Hi Everyone,

Mom says that time has been flying by since our last post. She thought retirement would mean more time to relax.....it doesn't. She's been busy with the house and yard, not to mention the motorcycle, hiking, swimming & pickleball. She's a wee bit addicted to pickleball.

Anyhow, we're all fine here and spend our days lounging inside and out in the Catio. Mom waits on us hand and foot, so we have a pretty good thing going on. Don't tell her I said that though.....hee, hee.

Mom did get away on the motorcycle at the and of May and into June. Her and Kodi went east all the way to Regina, Saskatchewan and then into the USA and came home via Spokane, Leavenworth and Port Angeles. They were gone for two weeks and put about 4000 km on the bike. There were complaints about the boring prairies and a promise to skip that kind of riding next year. Mom and Kodi prefer the coast and mountains :-)

I'm going to post a lot of photos to catch you up on things around here.

Good Evening Everyone,

We wish we had a happy post tonight, but there is some sad news regarding another one of our Marma-Ladies. Mom shared about Jennifer Bettin passing away which was just awful. Mom and Kodi drove to Fresno for Jennifer's Celebration of Life on February 4th. Sharon drove up from Visalia to join them. Mom and Sharon had a nice visit with Kay Bettin (Jennifer's Mom) and had a wonderful dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. Great memories for sure. Kodi stayed very close to Kay at the Celebration and whenever they were just visiting. He knew how sad she was I'm sure. Mom left for home on February 6th and had kept in touch with Kay everyday.

On February 19th Kay collapsed at home. She had a friend visiting, so help was immediate. Kay was put on life support and passed away on February 20 at about 12:45 PM. Needless to say, this has been a real shock to everyone. Jennifer's fiancé (Tom) will be organizing things for Kay.

The Cat House On The Kings (special thanks to Tammy) stepped up to help with the kitties that Kay had inside and the ones she takes care of outside. The two indoor cats will be in foster care shortly with an eye to getting them ready for a forever home. A neighbor has adopted one of the outdoor kitties. The two remaining outdoor kitties will be fed and cared for until CHOTK picks them up in the near future. Both Kay and Jennifer were long time supporters of CHOTK and there will be another fundraiser in the days ahead to cover the cost of the care of the kitties at CHOTK. Mom will talk to Tom as things get organized for Kay. We'll share more information as soon as we can.

Hi Everyone,

All is well here and we're sorry we've been away from my page for so long. There will be posts coming soon. This post unfortunately is a sad one.

One of the Marma-Ladies passed away in early November. Jennifer Bettin was one of our original ladies and will be missed very much. We lost her at 47 years of age to an illness she faced bravely and with her beautiful spirit. She loved all kitties and helped them in many ways. Even our dog Kodi had developed a special bond with her.

Jennifer loved The Cat House on the Kings and Mom spent many happy times at the open houses hanging out with all my ladies. There were pizza parties, dinners out and always lots of laughs and stories to tell. Jennifer met many of Mom's CHOTK adopted kittens too :-) The good memories are what Mom will hold onto.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Jennifer on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Hyatt Place, 7333 N. Fresno Street, Fresno CA.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP via Messenger to Tom Pappanduros (he was Jennifer's fiance). This will help him coordinate food etc. The celebration will be an informal gathering of Jennifer's friends and family. It will be a time to mingle and share our memories of Jennifer.

Tom has also set up a GoFundMe page in Jennifer's memory. All funds will go to The Cat House on the Kings. Mom has been in touch with CHOTK to ensure a plaque will be put up for Jennifer. I'll post a separate link to the GoFundMe page. Jennifer would have liked that we were helping her favorite rescue.
