❤Eli is hoping to find his forever family ❤

Eli is a tiny bun with a big personality! Though shy at first, he warms up with patience, gentle pets, and plenty of love. He enjoys music (especially jazz and acoustic), soft blankets, and his favorite stuffed animal. Once comfortable, he’s full of energy—zooming, binkying, and flopping with joy. Eli loves attention but prefers to approach on his own terms. He’s an excellent litter box user and thrives on a routine with kibble, greens, hay, and his must-have morning blueberry. If you give him time to trust you, Eli will be your sweetest, most loyal companion.

Likes: Music, palm leaf chew toys, plush fleece blankets, digging, exploring, gentle cuddles and lots of kisses, apple tree twigs, hay treats/snacks , a nice big carpet to zoom around on and binky his heart out.

Dislikes: forced handling, sudden noises

Health: Neutered, vaccinated and healthy

💙Adoptables Blue & Pixie🧚‍♀️

3 years oldBlue & Pixie may be shy at first but once you have earned their trust, they will run up to you for treats and allow you the pleasure of giving them pets.

These two would make excellent free-roam bunnies as this is how they lived in their former home. They have also been comfortable around calm and respectful children in their foster home.

Likes: Boxes, tunnels, treats, toilet paper rolls with hay, stacking cups, outside time while watched and in a pen

Dislikes: Being picked up

Health: Spayed, neutered, and vaccinated

Why We Love What We Do—and Why Your Support Means Everything🐰🤍🐰

Every bunny that comes into our care is a precious soul, and we are honored to be part of their journey. Your support allows us to continue this work, and we are endlessly grateful.

Its transformations like these and support from the community that keep us going on the hardest days.

Our standards of care and adoption requirements are high, and we consider that a badge of honor. As a rescue, it is our duty to provide exceptional care to every bunny we take in.

We see all kinds of rabbits—some who have lived happy lives in loving homes, and others who have been discarded like trash, neglected, abused, or rescued from unimaginable situations. When you witness suffering daily, you become fiercely protective. This is why we take extra care in ensuring adopters are fully committed and transparent—not just telling us what they think we want to hear.

It is our responsibility to be the voice for these bunnies and to advocate for all rabbits. We are dedicated to educating people so they can be the best bunny guardians possible. Too often, even well-meaning individuals unknowingly fall short in providing proper care.

Rescue work is far from easy, but we show up every single day for these precious souls. We will never compromise on our standards, because they deserve nothing less. We do our best and everyone including us can always be better.

Approximate Age: 1-2 years old

Annie is a curious and playful bunny looking for her forever home! Annie is highly food-motivated and loves head rubs, exploring, and playing with toys—especially her beloved tunnel. She enjoys doing binkies and exploring her large enclosure. Annie appreciates slow movements and gentle conversation.

While she’s still learning to trust, Annie has made huge strides in a very short time. She enjoys quiet affection and is becoming bolder every week. Annie dislikes being picked up, so she’ll thrive in a home that respects her boundaries and gives her the space to feel comfortable.

🧡🤍Adoptables Pekoe & Tilley🩶🤎

These two are affectionate, playful, and snuggly, making them a great match for someone looking for a sweet and silly duo.

Pekoe is friendly, affectionate, and loves attention. He will gladly soak up pets and affection for as long as you are willing to give it! He enjoys zooming and binkying when excited, especially at mealtime. He’s also creative, enjoying cardboard hideout construction and chew toys.

Tilley is sweet and gentle but a bit shy. She relies on Pekoe to help build her confidence and is has made great progress in learning that people (especially those with snacks!) aren’t so scary. Hand-feeding her, her favourite leafy greens is the fastest way to her heart and will show her thanks with sweet, happy honks. She enjoys lounging, observing her surroundings, and snuggling up to Pekoe.

Likes: gentle pets, tasty snacks & greens, zooming, binkying, being with each other, lounging in cozy spots., cardboard hidey houses

Dislikes: Tilley is nervous of sudden loud noises and will retreat to the safety of her hidey house.

🌸Birdie is available for adoption!🌸

Birdie is incredibly gentle and sweet, with a friendly nature that endears her to everyone she meets. She’s unphased by noise and activity and seems to not have a care in the world. Birdie even approached golfers at the golf course where she was found, showing just how sociable and unafraid she is. Birdie relishes in affection, often standing tall against her pen to get pets. We could see her doing well in a home with respectful children or other animals.

Approximate Age: 1 year

Likes: Cuddling up for pets, having space to explore, stacking cups, her cardboard box, supervised play outside, dandelion greens, birch branches and leaves, and being around people. She also loves her Oxbow treats and looks forward to them every night

💗 Adoptable Dolly 💗

4 year old Dolly is an incredibly affectionate and calm bunny who loves nothing more than cuddling up with her favorite humans. She’s happiest when resting her head on you and soaking up all the gentle pets and attention you can give her. Dolly is a relaxed bunny who will snuggle by your side on the couch while you read a book or watch your favorite show. Once she gets comfortable, her sweet, laid-back nature truly shines. She also loves exploring her cardboard tunnel and lounging on top of her wooden house.

Adoptable Sherbert 🍨

Sherbert has made amazing progress in building trust with humans. When he came into care, he was terrified and shut down. After a couple of weeks, he began coming out of hiding, eating from our hands, and playing with toys. He’s now discovering how good affection can feel and is enjoying gentle kisses and body massages. With more time, we’re confident that Sherbert will continue to reveal his sweet personality.

🩷Adoptable Sailor🩷

1 year old Sailor is a gentle soul still learning to trust after a tough start. She was found abandoned on a boat, left behind along with the belongings of squatters. Understandably, she’s a bit timid and uncertain around people right now, but she’s already starting to show her curious side. Sailor enjoys being talked to and has even begun nibbling treats from hands—a sign that she’s warming up. With patience and love, she’ll continue to blossom in a calm, stable home. Sailor loves her toys and seems content when she feels secure in her space.

✨Sweet Adoptables Jessie & Edmund✨

Approximate Ages: 11 & 6

Jessie and Edmond have been through a lot in life. Because of this, they can be very shy and take time to warm up to people. It will be important for them to find a home where they will feel safe and where their humans will patiently work on building their trust.

These two have so much love for each other. It is heartwarming to watch them together.

Jessie & Edmund would make excellent free roaming bunnies. This is how they lived in their previous home.

Jessie is a long-haired bunny who will require frequent groom to keep her comfortable and tangle free.

Our newest arrival started showing seizure-like symptoms shortly after arriving into our care. I immediately contacted our incredible veterinary clinic, Dean Park Pet Hospital. The vet kindly talked with me for 30 minutes over the phone. Though the baby seemed to improve slightly, she quickly worsened. While on route to Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital, she sadly passed away. She started to panic, as animals often do when they are about to pass, so I pulled over immediately to comfort her, and she quickly passed away in my arms. This is yet another bunny born outside, the offspring of abandoned and unwanted rabbits—another innocent life failed by humans. The population of dumped bunnies on Vancouver Island is out of control, and rescues cannot keep up with or solve the problem. It’s deeply upsetting how many people lack empathy and compassion for animals. I'm so sorry that humans failed you, little innocent baby. You deserved so much more. 🥺💔

Our Story

Amy’s Bunny Barn was created in 2015 to provide a comfortable place for bunnies and small animals to stay while their families were away on vacation. Shortly after I was asked to re-home a clients rabbit because they could no longer keep him and since then we have found homes for over 200 bunnies, 4 guinea pigs and 5 chinchillas. My passion for helping animals started when I was a child and has only increased through my adult years. I was always drawn to helping animals but I had this strong attraction to rabbits, always wanted one but my parents never let me. I believe its that they are so vulnerable and misundertood like myself. I got my first job working with animals when I was 18 at the BC SPCA in my hometown, shortly after I followed my passion even further and went to Granville Business College and aquired my Veterinary Assistant Diploma. I got my first job as a Veterinary Assistant at a Veterinary clinic that specialized in small animals where I got a lot of hands on experience working mainly with rabbits and small animals. I then followed my true passion and spent 8 and a hlaf years at the Victoria BC SPCA. While employeed there I gained an abundance of knowledge working with the rabbits and over time became a bunny whisperer so I have been told. My passion for bunnies grew stronger; I wanted to do more to help bunnies in need and to offer people my services of boarding, grooming and rehoming so that I could provide a safe haven for unwanted bunnies. Creating Amy’s Bunny Barn has been one of the most rewarding and life changing experiences. I have been able to help and find homes for so many animals, I have met some amazing people along the way, the amazing clients who come back time after time and keep in touch even when their rabbits arn’t boarding, the support from other rescues and being able to work in the community and create awerness and educate the public.

I am so excited for what the future has in store for the Bunny Barn. I plan to one day open a larger facility where I can rescue and board more rabbits, having a one stop shop for all your rabbit needs, be more involved in education, provide summer camps for kids and so much more!
