🚨INCOMING WHOLESOME UPDATE🚨

We’re sure you all remember Henry (one of our most recent rescues). Both him and his sister were adopted in December! Henry (now Solstice) is the most purrfect addition to his new family. He also gained a big brother and the two absolutely love each other. We are so happy when our adopters reach out and send us pictures and updates on our kitties. Like the many others, this little dude will never have to worry about being cold, hungry, or thirsty again. His dump days are over and we love being able to say he received his happily ever after!! 😻🖤

Does anyone remember Felix?! We just received an update from the family with these transformation pictures! Look how big he’s grown!!! It’s hard to believe that he was once a feral cat in a garbage dump. His owner told us that he’s the most docile, loving, cuddly and fun cat and that she’s so grateful to have him in the family. Congratulations Felix. We are so happy for you! 😻❤️🥰

We are absolutely over the moon to tell you that sweet little Sophie has been spoken for! Her new family saw her and fell absolutely in love. Meet Henry!! This little fella was rescued from a garbage dump in central along with his sister. He is one of the most loveable cats we’ve had in the shelter so far! Henry is playful, snuggly, and oh so adorable! He would make a great companion to absolutely anyone! Henry loves belly rubs and spends most of his time in your lap, even when he’s given the option to roam. How sweet is that?!

Henry was recently checked out by the vet and is a healthy boy! He tested negative for FIV/FeLV, received his first vaccination, and had treatment for fleas, ticks, and worms! He purred his way through his first vet visit and loves people! Henry is estimated to be about 4 months old and still has some baby teeth. ✨UP FOR ADOPTION✨

Meet our dearest Sophie. Sophie was rescued along with her brother from a dump in central NL. She first came to us as a frightened little kitten but has grown so much in just a couple weeks! Sophie LOVES belly rubs. In fact, once we got her out of the kennel at the vet (lol), she couldn’t get enough of her doc. She was rolling around all silly and chasing his hands for pets!

Sophie is a little shy, but comes around very quickly. She’d do best in a calm environment but we are certain she’d fit in anywhere with a little extra time. Sophie has been combo tested for FIV and FeLV (negative, yay), received her first physical exam and was deemed perfectly healthy, and had her first vaccination yesterday! Sophie has also been treated for fleas, ticks, and worms (revolution). She’s estimated to be around 4 months and is a petite little thing.

💔URGENT: RE-HOMING💔

Home needed for one of our previous rescues from a garbage dump in central. His owners are absolutely heartbroken. Please share this with your friends to help Mittens find his forever home!! This is what his current family would like to post about sweet Mittens:

We are completely heartbroken to have to do this, but we are looking for a new home for our sweet Mittens. We’ve had him for aprx 6 months, but he is just not working out in our home. He gets along great with our dog, but we highly recommend that he live in a home without other cats. He loves kids (prefers them actually). Mittens is pretty chill, loves to look out the window, loves to relax and loves to have his head scratched! He is fixed and is about 1.5 years old. Right now we are using pellet litter, so his litter box and whatever pellets we have would go with him if wanted. He can’t eat food with any fish at all, but other than that he’ll pretty much eat whatever! We are devastated, but we are really hoping he will go to a loving home ❤️

Here is another well overdue post about precious Zelda (now Molly). Zelda took a little longer than Roo to spark some interest but some lovely people reached out to us because they absolutely adored her!! Zelda is such a fun little kitty who would trust fall into your lap for snuggles ALL the time. She was an absolute delight to have with us but we are soooo happy she’s now in her forever home. This post is long overdue, but we just have to share it with you! Our little, lanky Roo (now Luu) has been adopted!! He is such a fun guy with loads of personality and did we mention his energy? Roo hopped his way into our hearts and now he’s hopping into more!

Roo is the offspring of Missy, who was rescued from a garbage dump and had her kittens in our care. Thankfully, he’s never known the life his mama had. We are so happy for this outcome and even happier with his new mom! She’s adopted from us before and Roo is now living with another former dump kitty, Toby! We know we’ve been pretty silent lately, however, much is going on behind the scenes as usual! One particular thing we’d like to share is that Missy was ADOPTED!! She has been settling into her household very well and is pretty fond of her new owner!! Missy was spayed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and later en route to her forever home! Missy was an unpredictable kitty and could not be adopted out to just anyone. We are all so lucky she found her forever home with an experienced human who thinks the world of her!! Congratulations on your happy ending, Missy! ❤️🖤❤️

Just a little update on sweet Kit! She is still very scared and nervous, but so far she is completely non-confrontational. She will tuck herself between the side of the crate and the litter box no matter where we move her litter, and she is surprisingly not overly fond of lickables yet (as you can see in the video... messy!) We have, however, been able to touch her multiple times and she's accepting scratches! So far she seems like a great little cat to work with, and hopefully it won't take her long to realize we're not so bad. ❤️

Thanks to your donations we got some new toys! ❤️ The video is long, but believe us, it's worth watching (and listening to) the whole thing! She's definitely a talkative cat, and she happened to also discover the door stopper... As you can see, Charlotte LOVES the tunnel and is also a fan of the toy hanging from the door. There's never a dull moment with this hyperactive creature, but she certainly showed us zoomies like never before! It's night and day compared to the greasy, stinky, matted, sick, malnourished and lethargic kitten she was when she came into our care. Now look at her! She keeps us busy for sure! 😹

✨UP FOR ADOPTION✨ We are finally taking applications for our handsome Oliver! 😻 Oliver was trapped at a dump in central Newfoundland along with Louie and Felix, and he is the littermate (almost identical twin, by the looks of it) of William, a guy we caught from the same colony but at a different time. Oliver is VERY handsome and dapper with his long nose and slender build, which is topped off with his permanent tuxedo. So if you're looking for the best dressed cat in town, Oliver is your guy! Oliver loves to play, he has excellent aim and can practically catch any toy mid-air while doing a cool backflip. However, his favourite thing in the world is cuddles! Much like his brother William, Oliver literally drools when given scratches because he just loves it so much! If you're lucky he'll even wipe his mouth on your hand... 😹 He is calm with a mild temperament, but not in an aloof, nervous or fearful way at all. He doesn't have a care in the world and really enjoys the company of people. You would never think he was from a feral colony! He has not had any problems with other cats here, so as long as a proper introduction is done, we believe he would do just fine in a home with other cats. Oliver tested negative for FIV and FeLV, recieved two different parasite treatments, had his stomach problems resolved with medication, and he is currently recovering from his neuter. He is estimated to be approximately 10 months old, so he is not yet an adult and is smaller than he looks in pictures and videos. Information about the Rescue

Green Bay Feline Welfare is a new and upcoming rescue that is forming to provide shelter and care to abandoned, homeless, orphaned, or feral cats in the Green Bay area. We hope to have an office to operate out of as soon as possible. Green Bay has been lacking an animal shelter for years with the closest shelter being in Grand Falls-Windsor. There is a MASSIVE need to create an animal shelter of our own to provide assistance to the public and to help cats that are in desperate need of our care. Currently, the rescue team consists of the volunteers who have been caring for the cats at the Green Bay Dump in South Brook, NL for over a year and a half. This rescue is separate from the help we are receiving from numerous shelters across the province and we are very appreciative of their effort to assist while we are trying to launch. We hope to continue working very hard to ensure that ALL cats in this area are off to better lives. We will continue our DAILY visits to the waste site to provide the cats at the dump with an adequate food supply. The cats are our focus and priority and our volunteers do not leave the GBD until they know that the cats have eaten. Although we are just a start up, we have been doing the groundwork required to ensure that the cats at the dump are cared for while we are waiting for approval to trap. A lot of the food purchased in the last year and a half has been straight out of our pockets, until you lovely people began to help and we were able to provide even better care!
