We're still here folks!

I would like to apologize for the inactivity on social media, 'Da Rock' Reptiles is still here! While everything is going to have a MASSIVE revamp over the next month or so we are still taking orders and continuing all normal business activities. With the reptile expo tomorrow 'Da Rock' Reptiles will be closed on Saturday, September 30th. If you're in need of supplies, stop by and say hi at the Alberta Aviation Museum!

It's almost here folks! The Edmonton reptile expo is exactly ONE WEEK AWAY! We've got isopods, gargoyle geckos, crested geckos, snakes, tons of supplies, and a huge assortment of 3D Prints!

Hey!

Did you know that fireflies contain a toxin called Lucibufagin that is highly toxic to both Reptiles and Amphibians? It takes only half a firefly to contain a lethal dose of Lucibufagin for a fully grown, adult, bearded dragon.

STOP!!! Did you know...

Did you know that Crested Geckos, originally Rhacodactylus Ciliatus but now Correlophus Ciliatus, are extremely susceptible to heat stroke? Their natural habitat can range from a low of 11°C to a high of 27°C. Like most animals, Crested geckos should not be exposed to really low or really high temperatures for LONG PERIODS OF TIME. Crested Geckos seem to thrive in temperatures between 20°C - 23°C. Anything above that, for an extended period of time, may be lethal for them.

If you're worried your Crested Gecko is too hot, try moving them to a cooler section of the house and putting them on the floor. Cold air sinks while hot air rises and if you're worried your Crested is too cold, move them to a warmer part of the house and if you're still worried, try placing a blanket on top of or around the enclosure to contain the heat within.

The Spruce Grove City Center Market is open to the public!

Just got some super cute Axolotls and a bearded dragon off the 3D printer!!

Did you know that Axolotls have a Genome 10 times the size of a humans! A human has 3.2 billion DNA base pairs that create our genome. The axolotl has 32 Billion Base Pairs! They can regenerate lost limbs as well as parts of their brains, hearts, lungs, spinal cords, and so much more!!

We're so sorry, folks, for the late post! We'd like to thank everyone who has come in and left us pictures and notes on our chalk wall! We love to see everyones creativity!

A small update, we are going to be participating in the Spruce Grove Farmers market! There will not be any animals or feeders as live animals are prohibited, but we are bringing a ton of 3D printed items!

Once again, thank you to everyone who came in and said hello! It was a pleasure to meet the new faces, and it was fantastic to see returning folks!

Yesterday's opening was a success! We thank all the amazing people we met who visited our store. The kids had a wonderful time drawing on our wall 😁 this is the first drawing wall of Da Rock Reptiles. It's cleaned and ready for the next kids vision!
