We have created an Amazon Wishlist as an easier way for supporters to donate ❤ right now we REALLY need supplies such as the things on this list. I've included toys, things for orphaned kittens, back scratchers and treat tubes to work with our ferals, litter boxes, food, cleaning supplies, beds, etc..

Anything ordered gets shipped directly to us! We need this supplies to have on hand for fosters and cats/kittens in the rescue.

Foster homes NEEDED.

If interested in becoming a foster for kittens and cats who come into our care please contact me. We have a lot of kittens needing to come in from outside and need places for them to go!

3 litters of kittens needing to come in currently - one batch is 4 weeks old, another 6 weeks and the others 8 weeks. Their moms also need to be trapped to TNR.

If you have a spear place in your heart and home for some little paws to run around and prepare them for adoption please contact me ❤

I created a group! Please go join it Amber's Safe Haven for Cats 🐈 ❤ once i have all members over their ill be able to shut down this page and use only the group for rescue! This is all a learning curve for me and I really think a group will work out better for us. I will work on transferring all important information and updating the group over the next few days

Would anyone like to make a donation of KMR (kitten milk replacement powder) for my 2 bottle babies who are drinking A LOT of it? We have went through 2 of the small containers of it already and I've had them less than a week! 🙀

If you'd like to go pick some up, they have it available at most pet stores (Wags to Whiskers, Pet Valu, etc.)! I will also accept monetary donations to go pick up some myself

What is everyone's opinion on changing this PAGE into a GROUP? When I first started this page I was not sure of its functions or if it would be beneficial for the rescue work I do. I have a wonderful following now but I think it could expand more if I created a group that requires people to join to follow along. I think when a group is created People receive notifications when posts are made unlike this page?

I'm open to all opinions! :)

Paige wanted to provide a little update on her vet visit at Avalon Animal Hospital yesterday!

Paige is overall a very healthy lady, she received her first vaccine and health check :) the vet did note some eye discharge and prescribed eye drops to clear this up. We can't tell if she is already spayed, there is no visible spay scar to convince the vets that she is. They suggested we do an ultrasound or put her under for a spay to determine if she is - her caregiver of the last 5 years says she has never given birth before.

There was a mass felt along her mammary gland, we are hoping this is not something serious but will know more once we put her under for surgery. Over all this lady is in great health and will be ready for adoption soon ❤

I provided the invoice of her check up yesterday for transparency !

I hate having to BEG for help for this guy. But time is cutting close. We have only 5 days left to raise the funds needed for his surgery. We are $380 away from our goal, if the funds are not raised surgery will have to be postponed which means that Lionel will continue to have pain in his mouth and it will also postpone him being placed for adoption :(

If this was sick kitten I feel like support would be pouring in and I would not have to be begging daily like I am for this man... he may be an older scruffy tom cat but he is the SWEETEST man that has suffered a lot over the years on this world. He really deserves this chance.

I just need 38 people to donate $10 each and this man can go ahead with his surgery. Please help make this possible.

LIONEL IS STILL IN NEED OF DONATIONS FOR HIS DENTAL ‼️🙏

Lionel wanted to let everyone know that he was toasty warm and happy during Hurricane Larry's touch down on the island. This is something he would not have had the luxury of just a month ago he was living out on the streets having to face all sorts of weather. Lionel is one of the lucky ones who has been saved and who has an opportunity to become adopted into a forever home of his own.

We have $375 of the $780 (low end of estimate) needed for Lionel's dental/neuter scheduled on September 20th. We still got a bit to go before we have the full amount. If you want to view the estimate please view our previous post on Lionel ❤

Lionel loves making biscuits on his blankets, I so can not wait to see him making these biscuits his own home! We really need YOUR help to make that possible.

This little lady made it in JUST in time to be safe inside for hurricane Larry ❤😻

"Clara" is an approximately 12-14 week old kitten who was trapped in the CBS area. we are making plans to now trap her mom and get her spayed so she has no more little ones outside!

‼️LIONEL NEEDS DONATIONS FOR HIS DENTAL‼️

Update: as of now we have enough to cover the low end of the estimate provided ❤😻❤😻 THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE for making this possible for Lionel!

We will still be excepting donations just incase the procedure ends up on the higher end of the estimate, and if more funds are collected that are not needed it will go towards another cat in our care !

I received the estimate today for Lionel to be neutered and have a dental (tooth extraction/cleaning). The estimate is between $770 on the low end and $938 on the high end 🙀🙀

Lionel very much needs this dental, as he is in pain with his teeth cracked off right now, roots being exposed causes pain while eating. I'm sure if anyone has ever experienced an exposed root before you know how much pain Lionel is experiencing. We have $200 put away for Lionel for his neuter but was not anticipating more needing to be done. Lionel's appointment is for the 20th and I simply do not have the time left to attempt to do fundraisers to help to cover the cost. I am pleading with our animal loving community now to help get the procedure he needs to be placed up for adoption 🙏🙏

Lionel endured a hard life, we don't know how or when he started living on the streets but we do know it took a big tole on his health. Lionel's last appointment he had tested positive for FIV, this is sadly something fighting tom cats often get while living outside. And the cracked teeth are a sign he had to eat a lot of food off the ground over the years :( Lionel really deserves this chance.

‼️FOSTER NEEDED ASAP FOR 7 KITTENS‼️

St. John's and surrounding area:
in need of a foster for seven 14 week old kittens, all supplies can be provided. Kittens will only need to be in foster for a couple of weeks! Kittens are vaccinated, flea treated and dewormed. Contact me if interested

These are just some of the many faces we have in our care right now! Most are out in foster homes, I also have some at my own place. All of these animals where saved from outdoor lives and depend on us to help them move onto forever homes!

Every cat and kitten that comes into my care require health checks, vaccines, testing and spay/neuter surgeries, all of which costs money. Aside from vet bills we have to pay for all our supplies along with supply fosters with supplies. We also purchase our dewormer and flea medication in bulk to have it for the animals as they come into our care. All of this adds up QUICKLY.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little stressed about our financial support, we have a large colony we need to help ASAP and with how slow fundraising has been going its going to be difficult to get them all the vetting they need.

How can you help us help the cats?

Another kitten trapped this week from the colony we are working on in CBS ❤

This little boy is scared and will take a bit of time to gain his trust but I'm sure will come along in no time. We are happy to have him safe inside!

Paige has her appointment booked for September 14th and with the unexpected cost added of lionels tooth extraction we really need more funds coming in ! Lionel Update😻

Lionel had his health check today at Avalon Animal Hospital with the wonderful Dr. Harvey. All went well, his upper respiratory infection is almost cleared up now just a few days of antibiotics left! Lionel is estimated to be about 5 years old. Dr. Harvey said he is a very healthy man, she did note he has a fractured tooth which will have to be removed during his neuter on the 20th. We vaccinated mister Lionel and FIV/FeLV tested him, he came back negative for FeLV but he did come back positive for FIV.

Lionel's FIV status is not a shocker seeming he's from a large colony of cats who are not spayed or neutered. FIV is only transmitted through deep bite wounds, fighting sadly is another thing that occurs in colonies when cats are left unfixed. Luckily Lionel no longer has to live that life, and his FIV status will just mean he's a little more immune compromised than cats who are negative, which explains why he had such a nasty flu when he first came into our care.

As you can see, Lionel is looking and feeling SO much better ❤ he wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who donated towards his care! Lionel's next appointment is September 20th to be neutered and have his tooth extracted and then he will be looking for a forever home! I love every rescue I am apart of, but the big old tom cats always tug at my heart. This boys life is forever changed.

Thank you to Avalon Animal Hospital and Dr. Ashley Harvey for the care done on Lionel today, so grateful for this clinic 😻

Canada Day Fundraiser for Fire Pit ❤

Little update on the family rescued from the colony I care for ❤ They're doing amazing and growing ever so well! Everyone wants to be out and playing now so they have run of the cat room in the day times 🤗 They're such spunky little kittens and momma is very proud and so good to them!

Fundraiser Draw - Purse and Necklace 🥰

This week has been a busy one! Meet "Rederik" 💙 This handsome man has been being cared for by a lady in Clarke's Beach for some time now and before that he was being cared for by another lady just down the street. This guy seems to have been living his life on the streets for a very long time now. Rederik had went missing for a few months and showed back up to his caretakers place full of matts, that have since fallen off leaving very irritated and scratched up skin underneath. Rederik also seems to be picked on by other toms in the area and as a result is very bet up and has an infected bite wound on his paw. :( I had originally got this dude trapped in plans of him being a TNR. But as you can see he is so very friendly. He either has been once owned or learned to trust due to the love he has been receiving from the humans he goes to. Rederek definitely needs a lot of TLC and he needs a full body shave due to the matting that is still left on him. I suspect this dude to make quiet the transformation! I can't wait to watch him bloom ❤ A big thank you to the ladies who have been caring for mister Rederik, because of you he will never have to endure a life outside again!

This is miss Pitcher 💙 Every single evening when I go to feed the colony this beautiful lady greats me so happy to see her food. She truly never leaves the shelter we had built for the colony she is always waiting in it for me to arrive and refill their dishes. Pitcher is very vocal and will meow loudly at me until she gets her food, this girl was one of the cats we had TNRd last summer and she is living her best life, happy, healthy and baby free. On a side note, look at all the food this ONE colony of 6 cats use !

Take a look at our next cat to get her no more baby pledge 😻 This beautiful lady is the last female in our colony to receive her spay surgery, plans are currently underway for trapping! We are so close to having no more kittens ever born in this colony 💙
