It’s not just us people who need to get away this time of year and warm up, dogs do too! Willadell daycare pups are headed to 🌴BARKaritaville🌴 for an all inclusive tropical vacation this JANUARY 24th! They’ll be barkaritas (dog safe of course), a sandcastle contest (best hole wins), a treasure hunt in the pineapple patch (find the yummy prize amongst the pineapples) and of course special photos.

To ensure we have enough supplies this event will need to be PRE BOOKED. Please let us know if your pup will need a boarding pass (yes they get a physical ticket 🤣) by January 17th. Also please let us know if your dog has any food allergies.

It's a time of celebration for us but for our pets it can be downright dangerous.
Here are a few safety tips to help ring in the new year safely.

1. Update all of their contact information. If they have microchips, check that your information is recent and ensure collars are worn with an updated ID tag.

2. Give them plenty of exercise prior to the evening's celebrations. Get a training session or two in, break out some enrichment games, take them for a walk or to daycare. This will help them sleep through the countdown.

3. Outdoor bathroom breaks should be done before dark. Ensure all gates are locked and all tie outs are secure. If you need to let them out after dark, go with them and have them double leashed regardless if you have a fenced in yard or not.

4. Keep all alcohol, chocolate, sugar free treats, grapes and other dog unfriendly foods out of reach. Let's start the new year off without a trip to the emergency vet.

5. Set up a safe area for your pet to retreat to, basements are great for this but other rooms will work as well. Put on the TV, the radio or even a fan to help drown out fireworks and offer a special treat or chew to help occupy them.

Another reminder of our holiday hours!
Please note that on December 25 & 26 and January 1 that boarding drop offs/pick ups will be between the hours of 7am - 10am and 2pm - 5pm ONLY.

Also please note our groomer will be off so grooming will be unavailable during these dates.
