the season we grow:

Harvesting some of our last broccoli before the rain (and snow?) for this weeks CSA.

Despite a rough start to the season (heat and drought!), we are having the most productive fall! Beautiful broccoli, celeriac, leeks, and trees full of mostly scratch-free honeycrisp apples!

And don’t forget that we are now taking pre-orders for decadent holiday preserves, including dark chocolate pear spread, rhubarb vanilla jam with earl grey, and spiced apple jelly with rum.

Send us a note if you’d like to pre-order preserves, or order some apples! And our online shop is still open, with apples and barefoot peonies available.

This stormy weather has us thinking about cozying up with a charcuterie plate and a jar of one of Leisha’s decadent preserves!

It’s time for holiday preserve pre-orders!

Available to order:

-holiday spiced apple jelly with rum (this one would be amazing on a holiday charcuterie board with fancy cheeses! Cinnamon, allspice, cloves, nutmeg and rum added to locally grown Liberty apples. Quantities may be limited!) $9

- rhubarb vanilla jam with earl grey (amazing on toast or over ice cream!) $9

- dark chocolate pear jam (good to eat straight outta the jar!) $10

- partridgeberry jam $9

- triple ginger pear chutney (my favourite go-to to add to grilled cheese sandwiches) $10

- cranberry walnut raisin conserve - something extra special to add to your holiday table! $9

- partridgeberry habanero mustard 125ml size only - amazing flavourful mustard perfect for leftover holiday sandwiches! $7

Ready in time for Christmas! These preserves make lovely stocking stuffers, secret Santa gifts, hostess gifts, teacher gifts, or stock up for yourself for the winter!

Please note that pre-orders are not available for pickup at any holiday craft fairs. Pre-orders will be ready by December 17th for pickup only, or earlier if needed by request.

We delivered our last bouquet of the season about two weeks ago. What a full season where we jumped head on into flowers! And while we haven’t had quite enough to make regular bouquets, we were thankful to be able to fill an order yesterday for a bloom bucket full of lisianthus, stock, scabiosa, calendula, ammi, and greenery for a remembrance.

We still have some experimental flowers in the greenhouse to test out for next year, but our flower season is *mostly* done. Now, time for fall planning and prep, digging up dahlias, building, planting bulbs, and still wrapping our veggie season (tip: we have loads of veggies and honeycrisp apples!).

Gratitude on this Thanksgiving holiday, a harvest day where we harvested pumpkins, celeriac, beets, carrots, potatoes, turnips and lettuce for this meal. Every CSA, every order that goes out, every veggie picked and flower bouquet sold, we are beyond grateful. In a year full of heat and drought, we are *almost!* ready for a break! Every harvest we’re thankful for, as so many didn’t make this drought.

Today was all about family time. Enjoying our labours, and the beauty of the flowers grown this year. We are enormously thankful for all the customers that continue to support us - new and old! The season isn’t quite over yet, and yes, we are already planning for next year as well!
