🎃 Happy Howl-o-ween from Murphy and all of us at Pet Vet! 🐾
Murphy was in for his neuter yesterday and showed off his spooky Halloween bandana, looking paws-itively adorable!
As you enjoy costumes, candy, and celebrations this weekend, here are a few Halloween hazards to keep your pets safe from:
1️⃣ Candy and Chocolate: Tempting but toxic! Keep sweets and wrappers out of reach of curious noses. 🍫🚫
2️⃣ Xylitol and Sugar-Free Treats: Found in gum and baked goods — even small amounts can be life-threatening for dogs. 🍬❌
3️⃣ Open Doors: Trick-or-treat traffic means extra chances for escape. Keep pets secured and wearing collars with ID tags. 🚪
4️⃣ Flames and Candles: Keep open flames and jack-o-lanterns away from pets to avoid burns or singed whiskers. 🕯️
5️⃣ Decorations and Strings: Tinsel, cobwebs, and garlands can cause blockages if swallowed. Keep them out of paws’ reach. 🕸️
6️⃣ Costumes: Choose comfortable, breathable outfits and avoid anything that restricts movement, vision, or breathing. 🧙♂️
7️⃣ Alcohol: Weekend celebrations can mean spilled drinks — even small sips can cause vomiting, disorientation, and toxicity in pets. 🍹🚫
8️⃣ Doorbells and Visitors: Costumes and constant knocks can be stressful. Set up a quiet space for anxious pets to relax. 💤
Wishing everyone a safe, fun, and fang-tastic Halloween night!
