Yesterday was a good day !! Zero is a beautiful Boy who due to irresponsible breeding practices was born with very limited vision. Zero is his owners first dog and she has taken on all the challenges that come with a vision impaired dog as a labour of love
She advocates for her beautiful pup and strives to give him the very best quality of life possible
Yesterday Zero came for a visit
With Tracey’s guidance and a little help in the pool Zero had a a great time and we are so thankful she trusted us to make sure her incredible boy got to have the most amazing time

It’s a little foggy this morning drive safe everyone
We are getting ready for Day 2 of our Event
First splash is at 9:00 it’s going to be a warm day so feel free to bring shade tents and lawn chairs to stay cool and keep your 4 legged athletes comfortable
There were a number of personal bests yesterday including one of our own dogs and it was only Day 1!
We will have a number of sweaters and T-shirts available for sale and will be taking details for a future order ready for the September event

We ask that everyone be here early enough for us to close registration by 9:00 for our briefing and first splash starting at 9:30
Registration opens at 8 please come find us in the building and we will get everyone checked in
We will have Try it’s over lunch and hopefully between splashes as well
Andy will be manning the grill with his “ world famous burgers “ over lunch and we also have refreshments and snacks for sale throughout the day
We welcome everyone to bring chairs and pop up tents as it may be a warm weekend and we want everyone and the dogs to be comfortable
Please park on the side of the building closest to the road there’s plenty of room for parking and to set up for the day
Baby shark Stevie was here this morning with her brave face on and without her shark life jacket
She did incredible and discovered that she not only has back legs but she can use them for swimming !!
She just needed something to distract her long enough to remember she’s not drowning

We had a busy day at the pool with lessons this morning and an Intro to Dock Diving seminar this afternoon
It’s amazing to watch the dogs progress and learn and have so much fun in the pool and especially that first big leap off the dock !!
We have had a space open due to a cancelation in our intro to dock diving seminar tomorrow afternoon

We understand that many dogs are not toy motivated and require treats and food for encouragement and positive reinforcement
We do ask that all food and treats be kept out of the pool
A reward on the ramp or dock is perfect !
Treats and food in the pool lead to major issues with the water and the filtration system
We always want everyone to have an amazing time but a skimmer basket full dehydrated treats and rotting hot dog pieces lead to a never ending battle to keep the pool water clear and sanitary
If anyone is ever unsure of the pool rules don’t ever hesitate to reach out and we are always happy to arrange a lesson if your dog is regressing or having issues during self serve sessions .
South River Retrievers- private group were here for a pool party this afternoon ! The weather was perfect and they had a great afternoon thanks for coming out to play.

We are about halfway through our season and we want to hear from our customers
We are thinking of doing some additional seminars over the next two months
Would there be more interest in learn to swim and intro to dock diving? Or intermediate with a focus on throwing and timing ?
We have also discussed a learn to swim for puppies class that would run once a week with a swimming lesson and a bit of socialization time

Dexter conquered the ramp and the dock today
We love helping others achieve their training goals and celebrate progress! Getting to see the results of hard work paying off with our own dogs is always so special. Ms Nyx has come leaps and bounds in the water and is turning into such a phenomenal retriever. She out swam and out retrieved the boys yesterday and we couldn’t have been more proud!

Today I got to see the other side of the coin. Argus started to work with a new handler at the pool. Paige is brand new to dock diving and is a quick study. Her and Argus clicked almost right away. Looking forward to lots of big jumps with the new Amy Weagle
Kraken, Doing some water work. Just shy of a year old he’s coming along nicely.
It grows a little bit each day, everyone is working hard to finish up and make sure we are ready to go for opening weekend!
A fly over video with the drone of the progress so far on the Ducks Unlimited project. 1 side completed you can see where the dyke ties into the upland on both sides, the beaver leveler for drainage and two well positioned islands . On the far side the progress is steady as the dyke construction continues forward on the plan layed out by Ducks Unlimited Atlantic Canada team.
On her debut visit Sienna had her game face on. While working with her and Deborah it was easy to see she loved being up there. This girl has some big jumps in here future but most importantly she had a blast!!!!
This is Spirit an almost 11 month old Chesapeake Bay Retriever in her first ever Dock session. With the drive this girl showed today her personal best of close to 14 feet will be short lived.
beagles love rabbits, but at least one beagle really loves Flat Coated Retrievers. This is the video version of EB on the trail of Noelle. As fast as her legs would carry her she never stops.

Jump # 2
In training with Phin over the last couple of weeks we continue to work on strength and technique. Tonight he took another leap forward. The first is a 5'10" high jump and the second video is Phin grabbing the bumper at 6'3". Onward and upward my boy!!
