I’m thrilled to announce that “Jade Toronchuk Horse Training and Lessons” has a new name—JD Horsemanship!

This change reflects my commitment to foundational horsemanship in everything I do, whether working with horses or teaching riders. JD Horsemanship isn’t just about training; it’s about building a strong base of skills, trust, and understanding that allows horses and riders to thrive together. My focus is on developing the fundamentals that set up both horse and rider for success, ensuring that every step forward is built on confidence and connection.

Thank you to .marketing for creating my new logo and for being so amazing to work with. Paige went above and beyond my expectations while brining my vision to life. Thank you my friend!

Thank you to all of you who have supported my business. Here’s to new beginnings, strong foundations, and a deeper partnership with your horse through JD Horsemanship!

🍂 Happy Thanksgiving from our herd to yours 🍂

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus. Giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
~ Colossians 3:17

I’m truly grateful for all the support and kindness I’ve received over the past few months. Thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their horses and to those who have taken lessons with me. Your support means so much.
Take time today to reflect on the many blessings God has given us!

>>>SPEND GOOD MONEY ON YOUR C**T STARTER.

>>>PICK SOMEONE YOU CAN TRUST AND LET THEM DO THEIR JOB.

>>>DONT RUSH THEM.

>>>THIS IS SETTING YOUR HORSE UP FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE.

>>>THIS IS ARGUABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP.

I see so many horses that COULD HAVE been outstanding and instead I’m putting back together mistakes from the laying of a bad foundation.

🗣 Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

And THANK YOU to my great c**t starters! With you guys on my team; I can accomplish anything!!!

Last week, one of my students excitedly showed me her new cowboy boots. She was so proud of them, but then shared how kids at school had bullied her for wearing them with leggings. They called her “fake,” saying she wasn’t “cowboy enough” and wasn’t a “real cowgirl.”

I told her she was more of a cowgirl than any of them because real cowgirls support each other, show kindness, and act with compassion.

Later that week, I had a lesson with a younger student. Her little legs barely reached past the saddle pad, and she had to work hard to give the horse the right cues. She never complained or asked to stop; she just kept trying. I gave her a high five and said, “Well done, cowgirl!” She responded, a bit sadly, “I’m not a real cowgirl; I’m just using your horse for lessons.”

I explained that it’s not the horse, the hat, or the boots that make someone a cowgirl—it’s the dedication, grit, and determination. By that measure, she absolutely deserved the title.

Too often, people call themselves cowgirls (or cowboys) just because they have the look—the ranch, the boots, or the horse. But none of that truly defines them. A real cowgirl is someone who lifts others up, shows resilience, and stays committed, even when things get tough.

So, if you're willing to tear someone down, don’t call yourself a cowgirl. Nobody’s horse is that high.

Ray Hunt once said, "You don’t make him learn, you set him up to allow him to learn. You have to give him that dignity. Once you start giving, you won’t believe how much you get back.".

This quote has had a profound impact on my training philosophy. Shifting from opposition to collaboration, working with the horses, yielding more positive responses through grace and understanding.

Everyone’s journey is different and I believe that is something to celebrate.
Tailored lesson programs are created for each individual and their horse, recognizing that each partnership has their own specific goals and challenges.
Rather than conforming to a standardized program, I adapt to meet the specific needs of each partnership, developing a tailored approach that prioritizes horsemanship fundamentals.
