Pom Beach Pomeranians

Pom Beach Pomeranians We breed a small number of select pomeranians chosen for good health and excellent temperaments for both in the show ring and out.

We specialize in parti colors, and have a special interest in therapy assistance dogs. We are located in the small town of Three Hills in central Alberta, Canada. We breed only a small number of select dogs. All of our puppies are raised underfoot and all of our breeders and pets live as companions, not in kennels. e us fall in love with poms. This is temperament, conformation and health, loyalty and all the things that make a great family pet while also being a beautiful representation in the show ring. Pedigrees are researched before breeding so as to avoid possible genetic conditions and to further the health of the breed as a whole. We believe in doing both health testing of the physical dog through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) as well as DNA testing thru Embark (which tests for over 200 possible conditions as well as traits and color). This helps us to pair the best matches together. Our other goal after achieving a healthy, good temperament with good conformation is to add some color and produce this particularly in the parti colors. It is our end goal to produce partis of such high quality that they can compete and win side by side the more established orange and solid color dogs.

Pet insurance is often something we are asked about these days. I wanted to share this post that Charm City poms initiated with different experiences and people's ratings of different companies. Please add your own insights as well!
With the cost of vet care these days, the thought of an accident,. sickness and injury are scarier and scarier.

Not my post, but it has a good point

Our Story

We are located in the small town of Three Hills in central Alberta, Canada. We breed only a small number of select dogs. All of our puppies are raised underfoot and all of our breeders and pets live as companions, not in kennels. We believe in furthering the breed and promoting the characteristics that first made us fall in love with poms. This is temperament, conformation, health, loyalty and all the things that make a great family pet. We do admit to having a fondness for unique colors and patterns, but quality has precedence over color. Pedigrees are researched before breeding so as to avoid possible genetic problems. We show our dogs and encourage the showing of our puppies in both conformation and agility classes. This helps us to stay competitive in achieving our goal in breeding quality dogs that match the conformational standard of excellence in the pomeranian breed and maintain goals of health and intelligence.

All of our puppies are sold by contract with a guarantee against any life threatening genetic faults. Before puppies leave they have already been micro-chipped, and have had a full vet check by a qualified vet as well as given at least their first set of puppy shots and de-worming. Puppies will have their litter registration with Canadian Kennel Club registration upon transfer of ownership (type of registration to be determined whether sold under limited non-breeding or full breeding rights depending on quality and contract with the new owner). Pups that we do not deem as breeding quality will be sold on limited registration with spay or neuter contracts in effect. We are very selective about what dogs are placed with breeding rights and generally encourage these to be proven show homes. Puppies are sent home with a puppy care package which usually includes a toy, a blanket with momma's scent on it to help assure the little one, food, a few peepads, vet records and info on puppy care. We usually also offer free trial of puppy pet insurance. We offer support for the new owners for the lifetime of the puppy/dog including helping with emergency re-homing - we never want to see one of our babies in a shelter, or abandoned!

Some of our available puppies will be a few months old, as we will sometimes grow them out to see if they will be show prospects. This is a great way to get a dog that still has it's puppy-hood, but knows a few more things than a brand new teething puppy.
