Let’s talk about MELON! I try to wait for watermelon 🍉 season every year to buy local but sometimes you just gotta have that sweet juicy fruit to share with your pup and that’s OK!

Melons 🍈 are brimming with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and are great for digestion as long as they’re fed in moderation (due to their high natural sugar count) 🍬

If you’re not using the fruit to help hydrate and cool down on a hot day, pop some slices in the dehydrator for melon jerky or blend with kefir for a tasty drizzle or frozen in ice cube moulds for a fun snack with a different mouth feel 🐶

Smart tip from
•
So many babydawgs (especially bully breeds!) can’t digest bones or bone meal 🦴which only becomes an issue when you realize that taking bone out of their diet puts them in a calcium deficit! So how do we rectify this? EASY!

•Invest in some good quality pasture raised eggs (this is a must as otherwise the eggs may be bleached or chemically treated which not only zaps nutrients but can be harmful to your pupper) 🥚🥚
•keep the shells in the fridge to stay fresh as you use the eggs.
•when eggs are done, wash the dozen shells in water & leave to air dry
•bake at 200 for 10-15 minutes (to dry thoroughly not to cook)
•throw into a coffee grinder or pestle and mortar and grind to a fine powder ✨
•keep in an airtight glass container in the fridge for up to 2 months!
•feed 1/4tsp per 1/2 lb of fresh food for easily digestible and absorbable calcium! Rule of thumb is that one large egg should yield roughly 1tsp of powder which equates to 2000mg of calcium.
•eat up pup! 💕
