Project Warm Dog is an initiative started last year that helps out our remote First Nations communities. The results last year were as follows:
112 dogs and 20 cats brought into rescue before winter hit.
$5250 raised to build over 50 insulated dog houses for northern dogs
3 oversized cargo vans of donations for the animals and youth in these communities, including winter gear, and hard to get mental enrichment activities (board games, sport supplies, general boredom relief).
This year we are launching early as we are going to help out more. This year, thanks to our friends and we will be providing financial assistance for dog house building in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
We are also partnering with local organizations here in the Greater Toronto Area to provide donated supplies to those (humans and animals) in need locally.
We can’t forget the dogs. I would put a number on it, but like last year, the goal will be to bring as many animals as possible inside before the winter hits. Canadian winters are no joke.
Like last year we will be delivering Project Warm Dog in October. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook Projectwarmdog for details on how you can help. Together we can make a difference.
