One final spotlight🌟 you may have seen her reffing PPG and even IMGE 2024 season, someone of many talents who continues to give back to pony club.

2024 was another fun filled season for everyone at TNY. I was fortunate enough to enjoy the perks of being a Horsemaster , all while helping on the Executive. Once again we had a great executive and set of discipline chairs to keep our season full of opportunities. Anita and I teamed up to tackle weekly education nights. It was rewarding to see the members then do quite well at Regional Quiz and throughout their Testing, applying all their knowledge.
I shared my passion for Mounted Games and PPG by being the Steward at the PPG meets and expanding the games season through members attending EMGC meets. It was fun to bring the club atmosphere to the EMGC meets, all while showcasing TNYs skill set! It was exciting to showcase the knowledge and passion TNY has for games by lending ponies to the IMGE competition, where Thunder really showed maturity and Flash showed she still has it!!!
We topped off the season by heading to the TNY Pony Club Invitational Hunt..I am thankful for the Pony Club lessons that allowed Thunder and I to soar over all the jumps, even with not too bad of form!!
I am looking forward to what 2025 has to offer as I step into the role of PPG Chair for TNY. Thank you to all who made our season so fun and so full! And the new and returning friends I have made throughout my time with TNY.

🌟Anita

Volunteering is underrated!

TNY is like a family. For the past 20 years I have been lucky to coach and volunteer and have met so many wonderful people.
Each new member quickly becomes part of our TNY family and fits in while being unique in their own way.
I enjoy seeing the smiles as they try their first canter, finally pick up litter with confidence, jump the tires on XC for the first time, enter their first competition and the improvements over the season and years. Joining the hunt all nervous and coming back to the trailer afterwards with confidence and finding the energy to take care of their mount first, celebrating each other at year end banquet, watching the parents grow from nervous quiet spectators to loud cheer leaders and hands on volunteers. Seeing the older members take on leadership of their fellow members…..who wouldn’t want to be part of this…….
These shy, nervous youngsters grow into fine confident hardworking adults and many stay as horsemasters and volunteers, giving back because they too realize how fabulous Pony Club is and how it gave them friends, skills and opportunities for life.
So many opportunities await us in 2025! Let’s go TNY! Barnes

The face behind the videos

🌟Courtney

This year has been nothing short of fun. Being a Horsemaster I was able to participate in lesson nights, musical ride nights, PPG practices, the Hunt and many more. It was wonderful to see all the bonds forming early in the year at working rally where myself and two other parents went as chaperones. Watching the kids blossom on the PPG field and later bringing their skills and team building to the EMGC fields is what pony club is all about.
TNY attended the IMGE meet and brought along a total of 7 ponies. Jumping in to lend a hand anywhere it was needed. A highlight was Winter and her buddy Flash coming home with the best team pony awards.
My favourite event this season would be the hunt invitational TNY is lucky enough to be invited to.
I can’t wait to see what adventures 2025 brings us on, as I Step into the DC Role for TNY this season.

This year had been another year filled with helping members learn ppg games and skills! While TNY absolutely crushed it on the score sheets, a bigger highlight for me was to watch the improvements in each rider’s ability and approach throughout the season. It has been so nice to watch as the bonds that formed during our practices and at the competitions have continued to grow even when the ppg season ended. I’m very excited to see the progress and passion continue to grow next season!

Our horsemasters are prior youth members, or parents who wish to join in on what pony club has to offer! With TNY many of our horsemasters look forward to joining in on the Hunt Invitational.

What a fantastic first year with the Toronto North York Pony Club! 🐴✨ Being a horse master has been such a rewarding experience, especially taking my horse, Sparrow, to the group musical ride nights. It was also a joy to watch my daughter thrive and achieve her personal riding goals in Pony Club this year! 💖 Meeting so many like-minded horse enthusiasts and participating in fun events like PPGs, Le Trec, and the Pony Club banquet made this year unforgettable.

A personal highlight was attending the invitational hunt with the Toronto Hunt Club. 🦊🐎 Spending the day with my own horse, and enjoying my first fox hunt with an amazing group of people was an incredible experience! I’m excited for what 2025 has in store for both Sparrow and myself, as well as my daughter and her ponies. My goals for next year include attending more Pony Club events with Sparrow and joining the hunt again! Here’s to more adventures together! 🎉🌈

Member Spotlight 🌟Avery

Avery has been a member of TNY since 2020 and here’s what she has to say! …
Pony Club has always been a very important part of my development as a rider. Over the years I have enjoyed participating in many of the disciplines and events our club has to offer, from Show Jumping to PPG to Cross Country and Le Trec.
I love attending TNY’s weekly ride nights in the summer, weekly education sessions in the winter, and love the camaraderie of being on the PPG field together!
Working Rally, Wednesday ride nights with Anita, and the TNY Hunt always check off as my top three favourite pony club events!
Through TNY I have been lucky to meet many friends over the past four years who share my love of all things equine. I’ve been lucky to have older members to look up to, and welcome the opportunity to help guide our young members too! We are also very lucky to have amazing volunteers who help put together our fun activities and fantastic opportunities to do and learn more.
For the past couple of years I have mainly focused on my love of show jumping, and have been competing on the Angelstone Silver Circuit with much success, consistently placing in the top positions. This season I qualified for playoffs in all three of my divisions, took an Overall Champion while there, and even got to represent my region in the Nations Cup helping my team take second place.
I feel that I have grown so much in my riding and knowledge of horses over the past few years. TNY has always been a big part of that because of the education, and the fun and supportive environment it has always given me. I’m really excited to take part in all the fun TNY has to offer for 2025 with my new horse Jimmy!

Member Spotlight 🌟Scarlett

This was my first year in the TNY Pony Club and it was an absolute blast!
I participated in many events, each one full with excitement, new friendships, and new knowledge. One of the events I went to was called working rally, where I dove into new horse knowledge and enjoyed lessons twice a day, I got lots of new tips to try with my horse. It was a busy weekend but it was filled with memories. The best part was hanging out with my friends throughout the experience, creating bonds that made everything even more special.
Another event I went to was the Hunt. This year, TNY was fortunate enough to be invited to the hunt again, and riding all over with the hounds was an unforgettable adventure!
I believe being a part of TNY has really helped me grow as an equestrian, and I can’t wait to make even more memories and learn even more in the coming year!

A common misunderstanding is that Pony Club is just for kids …when in reality it is for riders of all ages. Riders from ages 5-21 are our Youth members, after that riders become Horsemasters! Let’s meet some of our teen members and see what their Pony Club highlights include. ‘

"Finishing my first year of pony club it’s been amazing, they welcomed me right away, working together to surprise me with my very first pony. I've noticed how fun it is and how many new friends you make.
Pony club has taught me many skills while riding and on the ground with my horse and im forever grateful. I’m coming out of this pony club season with a few really close friends and a new love to try new things.
This season I participated in the PPG, the hunt invitational, working rally, ride nights and trail rides, they were awesome.
I am so thankful to have gotten involved with pony club even though I joined as a teenager, it just may have been my best decision this year.
Most importantly coming out of my first year one thing that I have come to cherish the most, is that pony club isn’t just about riding, it’s about friendship and you gain a new family by joining pony club.”

This is Mackenzie’s 6th year in pony club. This season she competed in her first Le Trec & working rally. She enjoys competing in PPG & meeting riders from other branches. She has ridden Murdock & Cassis in the past & is starting this year with her green pony Daniel.

Member Spotlight 🌟Hailey

This is Haileys second year as part of TNY pony club. This year she made many new friends, and participated in many pony club events. Her favourite was PPG and the hunt TNY was invited to. She is so grateful she got to borrow a couple pretty cool ponies over the year to ride in the various events she attended, her favourite is little Murdock.Her goal for next year is to complete her D1 testing.

Todays member Spotlight🌟Arianna

This was Arianna’s second year as a TNY member and her 4th year in pony club! This year she participated in every thing she possibly could from Quiz, PPG, working Rally, ride nights, letrec to name a few! She took and passed her written D2 test and is excited to do the stable management and riding portion with her OTTB Hudson. Her passion lays with Eventing but she truly loves anything to do with horses. And is never afraid to get on a new or challenging ride. She loves to help younger members and truly considers everyone in the club a friend. She is thankful for all the new friends she has made and is looking forward to a fun season both with pony club and eventing.

I joined pony club at the end of last year. I love our ride nights, and getting together with all the friends I have made. I had a great time at working rally and learned a lot! I also competed in PPG this season.
This year I am looking forward to attending as many pony club events as I can with my new pony, Ella. I am excited to teach Ella about ppg games and grow together over the season.

Member spotlight 🌟Penelope

Penelope joined the TNY Pony Club in September and began her riding journey at the start of 2024. With a strong determination to improve her skills and become part of the TNY family, she committed herself to practice and training, gradually building her confidence along the way.
In just a few months, Penelope has formed amazing friendships, enjoyed countless trail rides, improved her canter, tried her first “jumps”, and developed a passion for playing pony games with her barn pals. She’s eagerly looking forward to the upcoming season and can’t wait for more fun-filled adventures and exciting challenges in 2025!
