Owners Caroline and Dave — animal lovers and founders of Bold Raw and Mega Dog Raw. Aside from being advocates of a raw food diet, Caroline and Dave are pet parents to a pack of 3 shepherds (Sierra, Penelope and Simone). And that’s where the Bold Raw story begins!
Back in 2007, one of Caroline and Dave’s older female Shepherds, Lola, was diagnosed with EPI, a serious pancreatic condition. Other members of the pack were suffering from dry, itchy skin and inconsistent poops. The couple knew that they needed to find a better way to feed them — kibble wasn’t working.
After lengthy research and consultations with professional veterinarians, Caroline and Dave created their original Bold Raw blend. Made from ground meaty bones, beef tripe, organ, and kelp, this blend showed immediate results for their dogs’ health — from the youngest pups to the senior pack members, their dogs improved tenfold! They experienced cleaner teeth, shinier coats, improved stools and increased stamina. Their dogs became the picture of health, and Caroline knew she had to share this with other doting pet parents. And that’s where the brand began.
A few years later, in 2014, Caroline and Dave added a line of food they deemed Mega Dog Raw. The goal with Mega Dog Raw was to provide affordable raw food options for guardians of bigger dogs and multiple dog households. Staying true to the dietary philosophy of Bold Raw by replacing tripe with nutritious vegetables, the Mega Dog Raw line has become so popular it has expanded from a tub only format to patties in various packaging sizes and variety packs.
To this day, Bold Raw and Mega Dog Raw aim to provide pets and pet parents with high-quality, trusted products that pet owners feel confident feeding.
