Happy birthday/gotcha day to my girl Astrid! She is 9 years old and we have been together for 8 amazing years. She just gets better and better with age. We were so happy to celebrate with some of our favourite friends today on our adventure hike! 🐾❤️🎉🎂

It seems only fitting on this National Retriever day that we welcome 7 month old Georgia to our team! This adorable girl if full of energy and has charmed everyone at the dog park. She makes friends easily and is quite popular with dogs of all ages and sizes. We love her already and we are looking forward to many fun adventures together! 🐾❤️🦮

It has been one week since I received the call asking me to come and say goodbye to Piper.

I was in shock, I just saw her that week and she was her usual happy bouncy self, no one could have ever guessed there was anything wrong. Piper had an undiagnosed tumour that ruptured inside of her. It was sudden and painless. She showed no symptoms of illness and lived her very best life right up until the last few hours.

To say that I am heartbroken would be an understatement. Piper has been with me since the very beginning of Go Leash Go and she has walked with every single dog that has ever been on the team, including my last dog, Joey. She started with me in December 2016 when she was just 9 months and she met Astrid in January of 2017, when I began to fostering her. It was an immediate love connection and the start of a lifelong friendship. We have rung in many new years’ together, spent cottage holidays together, explored and found new trails and parks together, and shared too many morning couch snuggles to count.
Piper LOVED all dogs and all people, and like a typical golden retriever, she lived to give and receive affection.

She was a funny dog who always made me laugh whether she was diving in the river/lake for old slimy rocks or pushing the empty water dish around the park with her nose barking and growling at it, she always made me laugh out loud.

I can honestly say that I enjoyed my time with her as much as any human has ever enjoyed a dog. I loved her as if she was my own and I will be forever grateful to her family for trusting me with her care.

Piper, you were my favourite. I love you and miss you ❤️🌈
