This will be my 2nd Open Equipped World Championships and 3rd time representing Team Canada. It’s always an honor to represent your country on the international stage. My goals for this meet is a big PR total, have my best performance to date, maybe load up a prov record and get some redemption for my last open worlds. As always thanks to the IBW training team, my coaches Tom and Stef Kean, my super strong girlfriend Rebecca Price and my family for all the support. One more round! 🇨🇦 💪”

Congrats to all NLPA athletes who competed at Commonwealths and Master’s Worlds in South Africa earlier this month! We are so proud of you all. A few highlights:

Our President, Danielle Hussey, takes home a gold medal and a best lifter award in M1 52kg equipped.
Jeff Butt takes home a gold medal in 93 M2 equipped, and a silver in 93 M2 raw.
Matt Genge takes home a gold medal in the 105 Jr category.
Stef Kean takes home a gold medal and a deadlift record in 52 Open Equipped category.
Sharon McCarthy takes home a gold medal in 84+ M2 Equipped category.🎉💪🏻

The NLPA is proud to share that our very own Jeff Butt has been inducted into the CPU Hall of Fame.

If you have been to a powerlifting meet in the province, you’ve almost certainly come across Jeff. Meet director extraordinaire, talented lifter, CPU President, coach, and volunteer; Jeff has given countless hours to the sport. We are so thankful for everything Jeff has contributed to the sport in Newfoundland, in Canada, and beyond.
