Meet Ellie at PetSmart Truro!
Things you should know about Miss Ellie (AKA Squeak, Missy Mae and Lady Lades) that will help set her, and her new owners up for success:
• Good things come in small packages... the sweetest, most entertaining kitties come in small packages! She might be small, but she has a BIG personality!
• She's Polydactyl, and a couple of her nails are tricky to find. Her new owners will need to be comfortable trimming her nails, or taking her to a groomer or clinic for regular nail trims, otherwise her nails will grow into her paws... ouch!
• She chatters, and if you talk back to her, you could have quite a conversation!
• She plays... ALOT! She really is a kitten trapped in a 1.5 year old's body. She will play with her wire springs or spongy soccer balls until she exhausts herself or until she exhausts you...because you will be responsible to retrieve her toys from under the couch or fridge when she loses them.
• She likes to drink a trickle of water from the tub tap, bit drinks from her bowl as well.
• She is a faithful user of her scratching post, she's got BIG paws so she has lots of nail filing to do. She has not shown any interest in scratching the furniture since getting her scratching post.
• She wants to be near you, in the same room, or on your lap, or beside you. She can get in between your feet, so she could be a tripping hazard until you get used to her being there.
• She's not a fan of being picked up, but that does not take away from how affectionate she is in other ways. She is soft as velvet, especially her chin and chest, which she loves getting scratched.
• She's a total bird watcher and may leave nose prints on your window when she tries to get closer to them.
• She is a counter surfer, and will attempt to share your meals with you, but after being moved a couple of times, she will lose interest, but anything left on the counter unattended may not be safe
• She appears to have food insecurities, and we suspect she would eat until she made herself sick if given the opportunity. Because of this, she has been fed smaller portions several times a day to ensure she doesn't eat her entire day's worth in one sitting. Cuteness alert, she will sometimes dance for her food.
• There were cats and dogs in her previous home and if introduced slowly, she should adjust to living with them again. She is also good with children, just remember, she will squirm if the try to pick her up.
