How are you enjoying the unseasonably warm weather?

Mostly I’m just grateful for the extra time to get prepared for the winter for myself, my clients, and for my horses.

I had a great time coming out to a clinic to talk about horse health and proper shoeing. Really important to remember that everything shows up in the feet and that’s why we have to be diligent about taking care of them.

This is a Broodmare we’re looking at getting back into competition shape. That doesn’t just mean working on her body and mind, it means that we have to account for the change that pregnancy had on her feet, too.
Pregnancy tends to widen the feet, making them more flared out.
You can see where I’m pointing with my nippers where the new hoof is and where we’re trying to get to.
