Did you know? THIS IS AN IMPORTANT ONE!!
Biofilm and your cats (and other pets) water dish.
There is coalition between biofilm and your cats health.
Biofilm loves warm conditions, so if you are keeping your house warm in the winter, biofilm is growing fast!!
Summertime as well so keep those outside catio water dishes clean!
Some tips to combat biofilm:
Have extra water bowls so they can be washed and allowed to dry out regularly.
Run them through the dishwasher or scrub thoroughly.
Consult your vet if health issues arise or if you have any questions.

Let's start the week off with an amazing story.
Happy Tails story: Pip & Squeak
Pip & Squeak went to a family with a daycare in Kindersley, together.

Mom says:
They're growing like weeds, getting fluffy and coming into their own personalities.
Squeak is very food driven. He loves to be on the cupboard when I’m making food and eating.
Pip still likes sinks and prefers to drink water from the tap.
Still very playful and cuddly.
They even nap in the daycare play area while they kids are playing and don't seem to mind all the noise.
How the heck is that lego bin even comfortable???
They also like to take naps with the kids and snuggle right in with them too.

It looks like they are still stuck to each other like glue and having a lot of fun.
These two very special brothers found their purrfect home, together.
We are thrilled for them. They deserve it. ❤😎😽😍🥰😍😘

Cool story!!

The pilot wasn’t expecting an unexpected passenger to join his flight that morning. As he prepared his plane for a routine aerial inspection, he hadn’t noticed that something—or rather someone—had snuck onboard. It wasn’t until he was in the air, hundreds of meters above the ground, that he felt a movement behind him. Turning his head slightly, he spotted a small tabby cat sitting calmly, its eyes fixed on the horizon with curiosity.

At first, he was startled, almost worried: how had this little stowaway managed to climb aboard unnoticed? But his concern quickly gave way to a mix of wonder and tenderness. The cat seemed completely at ease, as if it had always been destined to fly through the skies. With every turn and light turbulence, the cat remained still, observing the shifting landscapes with an almost meditative calm.

When the pilot finally landed, he couldn’t bear to send his unexpected co-pilot away. Instead, he decided to adopt him. That flight, though unplanned, marked the beginning of an improbable but deep friendship between a man and a cat who dared to defy gravity together.

Well Cypress is settling in nicely at KC Rescue.
After a few days of daily soft food and brushings, he is beginning to look much better.
He must feel better too as he was a bit chatty with me yesterday for the first time and was showing his fluffy tummy off for me too.
Is is so affectionate and so very gentle.
He loves to sit on your lap, in your arms, or even just near you but loves to be touching you.
Cypress is really appreciating the soft warm beds and resting spots we put out for him as well.
He is slowly beginning to realize he is safe and it is very rewarding to see his progress.
Such a darling boy!!

Valentine's Day is near. Take note!

Brulee has been at KC for 9 months now and he is just over a year old.
So over half his life has been spent here at the shelter.

Since he is our shelter longest resident, his adoption has been generously sponsored by community member.
Brulee's adoption fee is now only $30

Brulee was caught as a stray right here on the streets of Unity as a 6 month old kitten.
He was very scared and shy to human touch.
But, he has really started to trust humans and will now ask for affection.
He is a very sweet, intelligent and lovely guy.
Why hasn't he been adopted yet????

Feature Feline: Cypress
1yr old neutered male

These photos certainly do not represent poor Cypress in all his glory but let them serve as his "before" pictures.
Just like Emery and even Sylvester before him, we have no doubt this emaciated feline will be as spectacular on the outside as he is on the inside, very soon.
As you can see he came to us malnourished and with a painful eye condition that has since started to clear up nicely.
Despite that, he is a darling!!!
Such a very gentle and quiet disposition Cypress has, and all he wants is your love.
He loves affection but, I have not even heard him meow yet.
Even though he gets very excited to receive pets, so far he is a very quiet and chill cat.
In the coming weeks (if he is at the shelter that long), he will get extra special attention and meals to bring out that glorious fluff and regal demeanor that he no doubt has under the stray exterior.
He is stray no more.
Stay tuned and watch this sweethearts progress.
