Hi everyone!! My name is Chris Hobbs and I am One of Five nominations for the Directors at Large Positions for the Newfoundland Pony Society for 2025.
For those who don’t know me I thought I would post a little bit about myself.
I am 42 years old with a huge love for Horses as well as every other animal. From the time I was a little boy I have been involved with farm animals and agriculture. From owning a little hobby farm as a little
Boy, owning a Hog Business, working on a Dairy Farm and having our own little hobby farm now.
About 5 years ago I wanted to get my little girl her own little pony. As she grew older she wanted something bigger. A Newfoundland Pony had been so long forgot about in our hometown, I just needed to bring one back. At that time, I didn’t realize just how hard it was to find one. Nor did I know that they were so endangered until then. Thats when I decided I was going to help the Newfoundland Pony Breed. After talking with many members of the Society and Pony friends in the Pony world, I was able to build a herd of Newfoundland Ponies. Since building our herd , I have added 4 Newfoundland Pony Foals to the ground with 4 more expected for next year. I’ve put so much focus into helping the breed that I have literally taken my business building and turned it into a Barn for the ponies.
Since becoming a part of the Newfoundland Pony Society I have helped with many rescues, temporary boarding or housing as well as helping with collecting DNA from ponies. I am willing to do whatever I can to help this breed. Therefore I believe I would be an asset to the Pony Society.
The Newfoundland Ponies have become a passion, not just for me, my whole family. It’s the children who hold the future in their hands. My very near future plan is to showcase this wonderful breed to the surrounding elementary schools.
Thank you for taking a moment to read a little about me. With your support I hope I can count on you to become a member on the board. Thanks for voting.
