Mia is a 9.5-year-old female Pomeranian who is healthy, vaccinated and spayed. She needs a new home!

This sweet little girl has been well taken care of. She is very affectionate and just wants to give kisses once she knows you. Mia is a tad anxious around new people, places and things. This little lady hates car rides, and walking on non-carpeted flooring. She does well with strategically placed rugs!

Mia loves her people once she gets to know them. She will greet everyone with an excited jump and lick, but then tends to go off to her own safe space. She is potty trained and knows how to indicate she would like to go out by sitting and staring at you, or is trained if you aren't home to use p*e pads - so being away for several hours is no problem. She enjoys getting out for fresh air, but a very short walk will be sufficient and she will let you know when it's over, as she asks to be picked up! In fact, if you could carry her on her fresh air outings, that would be preferred by Miss Mia. Her recall is near perfect as well!

Ongoing care will involve monthly grooming appointments, or at home grooming. Periodic a**l gland expressions should be a part of her care every 3-4 months, and due to this, grooming should include a sanitary trim to keep that area clean. Mia has just four teeth to smile with, so she will need those to be brushed to prolong their health, and food and treats will need to be kept to tiny pieces.

This little Pom is looking for a companion who is gentle and lives in a calm environment. She would do best in a home without kids or other pets around as she is very timid and therefore quite sensitive to noise and fast movements. She has been known to run and bark after squirrels and cats, but her human says that she comes when called.

Mia is gentle, sweet, and eager to please. She is very attached to her humans and needs lots of reassurance. This sensitive girl would make a very fun, loving companion to someone willing to care for her in her new furever home! Kaysha would love to hear from you if you're interested in Mia.

Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day — a time to honour the dogs who are no longer by our side but remain forever in our hearts.

At ElderDog, we know how deep that bond runs. We walk with seniors and their dogs every day, and when the time comes to say goodbye, we grieve right alongside them.
