Calculating Drip Rates It used to take me at least 5 solid minutes to calculate the drip rate for a patient. I would have to get a pen and note pad to write out everything, to cancel units and figure out how many drops per second my patient needed. Not only was this embarrassing it was time consuming. I quickly figured out a little cheat that works very well for me and I never need a piece of paper anymore!!...
