On really cold days it is important to find alternatives for our furry friends.
Ferg here, doesn't enjoy the cold and has sensitive paws when it comes to the snow, ice and salt on the sidewalks and roads at his home.
Instead of going for a walk today, we went in the yard to play some fetch and came in every 10 minutes to warm up by playing some tug of war! We went back and forth like that for 1 hour (which his usual walk time)
By the end he was satisfied and tuckered out 😊

Some alternatives for such days or obstacles are snuffle mats, soup bones that have been boiled to kill any germs, treat toys (balls, kongs) frozen filler toys or lick mats, fetch inside or out, tug of war or training!
***Remember to supervise any toys or games given to them to prevent injury***

As important as physical activity is important, stimulating their brains and making them work is also extremely necessary and helpful on days where going outside for walks is not the best option.

Dogs generally pull about 60 per cent harder on a leash when wearing a padded harness compared with a collar, even when the equipment is marketed as “anti pull” – putting the people walking them at risk of injury.

Some dogs – especially smaller breeds – pull with a force more than twice their body weight on the collar, potentially damaging their throats, says Erin Perry at Southern Illinois University.

“It’s really very shocking,” she says. “The dogs are almost choking themselves on that collar repeatedly. But the harnesses in our study just didn’t inhibit pulling in any way, and that’s definitely a wake-up call – especially because of the risk to owners.”

The holiday season is officially upon us!
Last night Kiraberi Pet Care attended the AnnualPerth Santa Claus Parade 2024 for the first time!
Unfortunately we had some technical difficulties before heading out but we improvised! Regardless, I am very pleased with how our first appearance went. Next year we will go bigger and better!

Thank you to my wonderful volunteers and their pets who did an amazing job tolerating the chaos, running around and handing out goodie bags/candy.❤️

Thank you to the parade volunteers that organize this event 🥳

Thank you to my amazing l clients who support, trust and believe in us ❤️

Joining the parade was a milestone for KPC and I am so happy to have joined in the festivities. It was an awesome night full of fun, laughter and Christmas joy 🎄🎁❤️
