Lanark County OPP continues to appeal for information regarding a serious two-vehicle collision.

The crash happened on Sunday, October 13, 2024, around 8:15 p.m. on Fallbrook Road.

Two vehicles were northbound when they were passed by a red Dodge Ram pick-up truck. One of those vehicles was forced off the road, where it struck a rock cut and later caught fire.

Individuals who had stopped at the scene helped to pull individuals from the wreckage.
Five people, ranging in age from seven to 48, were transported by ambulance to several hospitals with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The pick-up truck did not stop after the collision and left the scene.

The truck described as is a red Dodge Ram, four-door crew cab, believed to be from 2005 to 2009. It’s not believed this vehicle sustained any damage.

If you have any information that could help Lanark County OPP locate the red pick-up or identify the driver, call 1-888-310-1122 and refer to incident E241376046. If you have information but want to remain anonymous, call Lanark County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

As many of our followers know, our intake is closed, along with many other rescues in the area. There are just too many cats and not enough resources. There is one way to help change the tide of cat overpopulation: spaying and neutering.

Spaying and neutering cats is essential for controlling overpopulation and preventing thousands of kitties from ending up in shelters.

These procedures offer significant health benefits with minimal risks, including reducing the risk of certain cancers and illnesses.

They can also help curb unwanted behaviours like aggression, wandering, and spraying. By spaying or neutering your cat, you are directly helping to reduce shelter admission rates and improving your feline companion’s overall health and welfare.

To learn more about the benefits of spaying/neutering, we invite you to visit the Ontario SPCA’s website, linked below:
