Hi, I am Carolyne Baker, founder of Pawfection Academy.

Here is a little about me: I am an animal lover to my core! This is not a job for me but my calling.

I've been drawn to animals since I was a little girl. My brother and I would take care of all the dogs and cats we could find in our neighbourhood. Everything about animals fascinated me!

As a teenager and young adult, I worked at a veterinary clinic for cats, where I learned of my positive effect on animals. I was able to befriend aggressive cats, and I instinctively knew how to soothe them and make them comfortable. People would compliment me on my ability to influence animals positively.

Fast forward to 2019, where I began work at another veterinary clinic. I adored being around animals all day. I discovered that I had a penchant for dog training, so I completed my certification as a professional dog trainer from the Dogue Shop in Montreal.

Do you need help with your dog? Did you know that proper training and socialization are part of your dog's basic needs regardless of age? The first step in training is to understand what motivates your dog and how to interpret its language. Then we will take it step by step according to your dog's unique personality through socialization, basic obedience and even add in some fun tricks. The sky is the limit!

I am passionate about helping people bring out the best in their dogs. Once a dog owner understands what motivates a dog and how to interpret its language, every opportunity is a teaching moment. The sky is the limit!

Whether you just welcomed a new puppy into your family or adopted an older dog, I can work with you through the all-important transition period to help your dog put their best paw forward!
