Huge shout out to Rob (Bison Baron) who volunteered to bring Luna (from our rescue)and Asher (from Re/Vida Rescue) to their new adopted families. He drove these two fur balls nearly 1000km in a day from Vancouver to Calgary. We are so appreciative of your kindness and love for dogs Rob❤️

Tank is an 8 month old pup that absolutely lives up to his name. This strong and powerful guy is looking for a home that can give him all the love and attention he requires.
After his foster humans gave him a quick name change he proved to be a quick learner as he responded to it instantly. His current walks consist mostly of off leash as his recall is fantastic. If he does go on a leash he tends to be a bit of a puller, but nothing that can’t be worked on. Most of Tanks walks are at an off leash dog park where he attempts to make as many friends as possible.

Tank loves to be involved in any activity the humans are doing. So far he’s excelled at camping, hiking, paddle boarding and swimming.
Tanks most of all enjoys a comfy couch or human bed where he can work on his relaxing skills.

If there was another dog in the home Tank tends to come on a little strong at first. He will get so excited that he forgets that other dogs have boundaries and hasn’t quite learned how to take their hints about respecting that. After being with his foster doggo sister for a few weeks this behaviour has significantly improved.

Because of Tanks initial start to life he now has extreme separation anxiety. He needs to learn that he will be alright when his people leave and with the right person who has the patience and time he can work through this!!

🚨VANCOUVER FOSTER HOME NEED🚨

Our sweet petite JRT/Staffie needs a foster home (or foster to adopt) in the Vancouver area! Betty has been with her lovely foster mama for 4 months but with summer vacations/ plans Betty needs a new place to rest her head.

Betty’s needs/info include:
✨ Needs a experienced dog person who is willing to work on Betty’s leash frustrations (she gets scared and reacts to dogs on leash) we will provide professional training (or this is a great opportunity for a new trainer to get experience)

✨ foster should be ready to take her on adventures. While she is content to sleep a good portion of the day away, she really loves to be out and about! Her favorite thing to do is to swim and will chase sticks in the water for hours. She also likes beach roaming, digging for shellfish and wading through tidal pools. She loves jogging too, alongside a bike or going for a run. Betty is also great on car rides

✨ With the right introductions, she’s quick to make friends with dogs and people. A home with a chill laid back dog would be ideal. She is great with kids and has shared a house with them

✨ Outside of the house, Betty can be a handful on leash. Betty use to be a free roaming street dog and needs to learn the ropes of leash adventures.
She has her ups and downs. When she’s feeling more confident, after a good swim or an especially fulfilling sniff walk, she’s easily distracted from her triggers. However, if she’s been cooped up all day, or has too many triggers piled on top of each other, she’s a lot more reactive on leash walks.

✨ Betty has shown great improvement with all her training and that needs to be continued. She needs more one on one time to overcome her high excitement and emotion when she’s around too many triggers. 75% of the time, she is an amazing loving dog, and it will only take some more time, consistency and devotion to get her to a full 100%!

✨ This goofy girl is affectionate, wants to be around her people and her dogs as much as she can. Give her your face and she’ll lick it for you! Give her permission and she’ll be in your lap!
In the house, she’s a lovable, playful dog. She’s super smart, quick to pick up training and commands.

Oh and she is tiny!!! 35 lbs of cuteness speckled with the cutest polka dots

Meet Truket, the sweetest guy who captures the hearts of everyone he meets. This ✨Golden Bachelor✨ has a lot of love to give, and would love to spend his golden years with someone looking for the rewarding experience of giving a sweet special needs senior the love he deserves and gives right back.

Truket was found on the street in very rough shape, and spent the next four years at the refugio getting rehabilitated and making friends with all of the visitors. Despite having weak hind legs and a crooked walk, he is very happy and up for (moderate) adventures! He’s been to the beach, on trail walks, and neighbourhood strolls.

At home, he is very chill, and if he could snuggle with someone on the couch all day long, that would be his dream. He will likely become your shadow, but if you’re out, he can be left alone with absolutely no problems; chances are, he’ll be in the exact same spot on the couch as he was when you left!

A true foodie, his recall skills are great as he is very motivated by snacks; he even dances at mealtime! 🕺

He is currently undergoing physical therapy with a positive prognosis of maintaining or even improving his condition, while strengthening his muscles. While he is able to go up and down stairs and hills, and get himself into the car, Truket would really benefit living in a home with a yard, minimal stairs, and a flatter terrain.

Truket’s mysterious past has not broken his spirit, but he can be a little bit apprehensive of loud noises and new environments and people. He sometimes pees when he is scared, but has come a long way in a very short time. His new family will have to be patient and compassionate with him, as he learns the lay of the land.

A true gentleman, Truket is the perfect companion for someone seeking unbridled love, who wants a dog but not the responsibility of going on long, epic walks. We are looking for a special someone who wants to experience the rewards of giving this beautiful senior soul a chance at love, especially since he spent so much of his life without it.

A bit about Truket:
✨️good on leash (but may need some coaxing on walks), great house manners, can be left alone, mostly potty trained (part of his condition affects his ability to control his bladder when excited or morning pees), and crate trained

❤️BETTY❤️

Meet Betty, the sassy señorita who is equal parts goofy and sweet. Don’t let the pictures fool you as this 30lbs ‘pocket pittie’ appears larger in her photos than in real life!

This 2-year-old cutie may have had a rough start in the streets of Cancun, but she’s left that behind and is learning what life is like with a family. Betty was rescued when she was pregnant, tick/flea infested, and oh so skinny! Despite her challenging past, her bright spirit and her constant wagging tail is a testament to her resilience.

Betty is a social butterfly when she is properly introduced to dogs and is great around dog-savvy cats. She does try to chase all the critters, but is learning how to leave them. She’s a pro at playtime, but her new home will need to set playtime boundaries and to reinforce her impulse control skills. She loves bones and they are a great distraction for her.

Betty has really great recall and amazing at car rides! Very great motivated & has proven to be a super smart and obedient pup and has been mastering calm time, threshold training and ‘Leave it’.

Betty has overcome a tough beginning but she is a relatively easy dog to train. She just needs a dedicated owner who will show her the ropes, especially how to interact with other dogs on a leash. She is learning the confines of leash walks and is a work in progress on harnessing her excitement around dogs when leashed. It’s completely understandable that she is frustrated with leashes, as in her past life she was a free roaming dog. Betty has been assessed by a certified trainer (Thank you Liberty!!!) and will come with tips and techniques on how to continue her leash walks like a pro.

🚨💰Due to some unexpected vet bills we are almost out of money! 😢 we need help to keep going! 💰🚨

GOAL: $1,857 to cover the following unexpected expenses

Tank (new intake) neuter and vaccinations - $595

Luna who had to be rushed to emergency after eating human p**p on a walk that was tained with drugs (yes it’s a thing 😞 she had to be rushed to emergency and is 💯 now) - $323.40 + $293.07

Truket - a lovely senior who needed to see the neurologist along with physiotherapy sessions - $187.11 + $143.64 + $311.85.

🚨 ‼️ Tank needs a foster home!! ‼️ 🚨
This 8 month old unaltered boy needs a crash pad ASAP in the Calgary area or transport can be provided for the right fit.
He needs lots of exercise and has great recall. He has a hard time being alone, so we need someone who is retired or works from home. He’s not been properly crate trained, so bonus points for anyone who loves an extra snuggle buddy in bed.
We will engage and pay for a professional trainer to ensure the foster has the proper guidance.

We will be updating his vaccines and having him fixed as soon as the foster can support.
