Whenever a stray animal is brought to a vet clinic, animal control, or a rescue, they are immediately scanned to see if they have a microchip. As RVTs, we get a smile on our face when we hear that positive "beep" when we find a chip. We rush to our computers and look up who this pet belongs to in the hopes of reuniting them with their people.
Microchipping is an easy way to ensure your pet's best chances of returning home if they ever get lost. This small implant is placed under the skin in the pets scruff area and is registered in an online database with all your contact information.
Ask your veterinary team members for more information!
