M-ROAR had to close its doors June of 2022. It remains this way today. Hopefully one day, I'll be able to reopen in some capacity but not yet.

On a totally awesome and happy note, all of the cats that MROAR had up for adoption have officially been adopted!!!!

Thank for your shares and support.

One day, I hope to be able to do this again in some capacity. Until then, care for your animals. Vet them. Sterilize them and for the love of God, treat them like family, heck, better than family.

Ron, our last rescue cat, will be on his way to Abbotsford BC on Saturday morning to Heart and Soul Dog and Cat Rescue Society with the help of Paws Crossed Animal Shelter & Adoption Centre. Thank you so much to these wonderful rescues for helping us out in our time of need.

I am still hoping to find temporary fosters for 3 of my other cats, that information can be found pinned to the top of the MROAR page.

Effective immediately, MROAR will be suspending any intakes. We are still looking for a foster or forever home for Ron, our last foster cat as Xita has found a home!!!

Unfortunately and heartbreakingly, I am asking for help with some of my own cats. Either in a foster situation until things become more clear for me or in an adoption manor.

If you are able to help, please Private Message MROAR directly and I will get back to you as I am able.

Both are sterilized and up to date on FeLeuk and Distemper.

Ron is still looking for his forever family. Ron is an amazing orange boy who loves to snuggle, loves playing, enjoys ranging outside in the sun and adores his best friends, our lab and German Shephard.

Ron would do best on a farm or acreage where he can safely explore his surroundings away from busy roads or highways but come inside at night. He enjoys coming in and out with his people and doggo frens.

Please let us know if you might have space in your life and in your heart for this orange lovebug.

Desperately seeking Foster or Forever homes for these three sweet souls.

Ron - male orange tabby. Unknown age but still very playful, extremely snuggly. Sweetest little talker. Great with cat savvy dogs and okay with other cats who know how to be around other cats. Neutered and up to date on FeLeuk and Distemper.

Xita and Baxx: siblings going in for their first shots and neuter and spay this week. Absolutely precious little kittens of about 6 to 7 months and so darn sweet it makes your teeth hurt. Big cuddlers. Great with cat savvy dogs and socialized cats.

All supplies are included for fosters...food, litter, toys, medical.

Please consider helping these cats on their journey. Sharing is also helping.

Baxx and Xita. Brother and sister. Absolute precious beings. Baxx is done with playing hard to get and absolutely LOVES attention. They both do. They are working on putting in some weight and will be at the vet in a couple weeks for their sterilizations and shots.

Finally managed to trap this little void yesterday. This is Xita's brother and was in an abandoned house that they were left in. I was able to catch Xita last Thursday with little trouble but this one was not about to make things easy and with the big storm...it took till Tuesday until I could safely trap him. I left food and water in the house over the weekend and hoped for the best. Anyway, he's caught and safe and not impressed at all. Much more wild than his sister but will happily be petted while eating. He'll come around.

I'm normally excellent at names but am coming up blank. I keep thinking something along the lines of Colorado Low as that was a major factor in their capture. Colin the Colorado Low? Lorado? His sister, Xita, is Rain in Maltese as it was properly pouring when I caught her.

Help on names? Also looking for adopters or fosters for these kittens.

Meet Xita *Maltese for rain* and Ron. Both are in care but need to be placed in foster homes asap. Foster and Foster to Adopt are both available here.

Xita is approx 6months old. A tiny fireball of a dilute tortie. Seems to handle our dogs well. No vetting as of yet but appears healthy and will be fully vetted next week after the storm.

Ron is an adult male of undetermined age. Super duper expert level cuddler. Utd on shots. Neutered. Not sure about other cats at this point. With slow introduction, I feel like it could be possible but would definitely need to be taken slowly and carefully.

One is for two young cats....6 to 7 months that will be coming into rescue tomorrow likely.

URGENT: Foster or Forever Home

This lovely boy is Ron. He is coming back into care as his adoptive sister and him cannot seem to find common ground and behave themselves. A very hard decision for his adoptive family but the right decision for Ron.

He is a very affectionate cat who is GREAT with humans. Whether he can be okay with other cats remains to be seen. Unsure about cat savvy dogs.

Can you help Ron and us out? He is neutered and up to date on his shots.

Kitten season about to begin and it's not fair to the moms and little beans to be tossed away because people haven't cared enough to be responsible for these animals. Help make a difference.

This is Pearl. She's an approximately 1 year old female looking for a new home or foster home. A friendly girl who loves people and holds a special place in her heart for kids. Unfortunately one of her people have developed an allergy and so needs to continue on in her journey. She is spayed and utd on vaccinations.

UPDATE: Marmalade has been residing here these last few days. Tomorrow he goes in for his health check, neuter and first vaccines. All being good, he'll be going home with his new foster dad this week. So happy for this sweet loving boy. 🧡🐾

MROAR is Manitoba Rurally Operated Animal Rescue Operated right here snuggled in amongst Pilot Mound, La Riviere, Swan Lake, Somerset and Crystal City.

We've been unofficially working to help animals for the last 9 years and in the last year, we've helped 14 cats and kittens get off the streets of our communities, get well, get socialized, get the vetting they needed and find the best homes for them.

Had these cats stayed out in our communities, theoretically they could have produced almost 300 more cats to overpopulate our communities. This is the beginning of making a real difference.

We are selling fundraiser calendars to help keep MROAR going. Without help, we cannot do what we do.

Calendars are a minimum donation of $25 and can be found at Pilot Mound Home Hardware, Pilot Mound Pharmacy, Pilot Mound Esso, Call-Inns Hotel & Bar and Pembina Valley Veterinary.
