* Puppy Information
All puppies will be ready for their new homes at 8 weeks. Puppies will go home with first set of shots, multiple deworming and vet physical examination. All will be introduced to basic house training with use of a puppy p*e turf. All will begin basics in kennel training starting at 4 weeks of age with closed door sessions starting at 6 weeks to ensure crate awareness. All are fed a raw diet starting at 4 weeks with a provided potion upon pickup. All will be leaving with a new home starter kit which will include everything you will need to get your puppy settled into his or her new home (blanket with mother’s scent, current feeding dish, toys, vet check book, quality collar, portion of current food, pumpkin purée and many other goodies to ensure they are pre-spoiled!). We choose to feed all pups and adults that go through our home a BARF diet consisting of a 70:10:10:10 ratio of muscle meat, organ & bone, and fruit & vegetables.**(Raw diet is Not required to be continued, we just like to give our pups the best start at life as possible!)**
* Origin
Dating back to 1980, the XL AB was bread in the US in attempt to develop the perfect family companion. While maintaining their stunning traits and removing undesired attributes, the perfect family dog has been created that we see today. These rich bloodlines has lead to the initiation of the ABKC in 2004 to allow for purebred pedigrees to be allocated. When discussing height and weight of the average AB, males are 20-23 inches at the withers and 80-150lbs while females are 19-22 inches and 70-130lbs fully grown.
* Temperament and Training
Despite their looks, this is an incredibly gentle, friendly and social breed that has come to prove its loyalty in many family homes today. Although some may think otherwise, the breed has never been know to express aggression and has little to no prey drive when properly socialized. I refer to mine as “gentle giants” which is an understatement. High intelligence and eagerness to please makes this breed trainable to high ability. Positive reinforcement such as clicker training is highly advised. Similar to other breeds, the XL requires early stimulation and consistent training at a young age. This breed thrives with individuals of all ages guaranteeing a loyal companion. Stable, confident, calm, friendly, outgoing and the most loyal breed you will find!
Please make a carful consideration before making a decision on your companion. A dog is not a gift nor temporary. This is a 10-12 year commitment or more depending on your lifestyle.
