When she fell off the leaf 🥹😭
Monstera Monday ! Get your Monstera today !
Philodendron Timeeeee ✨💚
Genus Species: Philodendron hederaceum
Light Requirements: Indirect-bright sunlight for speedy growth (they are very fast growers), low light tolerable.
Watering requirements: Once every two weeks or when soil is dry. Once every week if exposed to more sun.
One of the most popular and common species of its genus (Philondendron), the Heartleaf is a must have to all plant owners all over the world for a plethora of reasons, they are elegant, fast growing, easy to propagate, and the list goes on and on. Philodendrons are notoriously attributed with expensive varieties/species, but the Heartleaf species remain on the price-friendly and affordable side of the hobby as they are much more common than their rare and expensive relatives. I’ve got a lot of Heartleafs and they are probably the fastest growing plants I’ve ever owned, even faster than my Monsteras. Even with low-light and infrequent watering, Heartleaf Philondendrons will still grow very fast (and healthy); unhindered as if they were treated with proper care. They thrive on one condition the most: Humidity, these plants are mostly grown in humid spaces such as kitchens, windowed bathrooms, or areas directly away from air vents.
You will find Heartleaf Philodendrons in their natural habitats in the tropics of the Caribbean, Central and South Americas where they can grow up to 20ft in length and form into thick, trailing bushes on trees. Although not detrimental to their care requirements, Heartleafs love -and I mean LOVE to be misted, feel free to mist them more often than your other houseplants as they will thank you with their lush and perky leaves, displaying everything there is to love about a Heartleaf. These plants will look great anywhere you put them, they can be trailing or attached to a moss pole to grow upwards.
Golden Pothos to brighten up your day!
Genus Species: Epipremnum aureum
Light Requirements: Indirect bright light to low-light exposure (tolerable but could stall leaf development). Keep away from direct sunlight.
Watering requirements: Once every two weeks, or when soil is dry. Pothos are very communicative when they need water as they will droop their leaves
Found in Southeastern Asia and South-Western Pacific Islands, they are often seen climbing many different vertical structures such as tree trunks and were measured to grow around 40 ft in length in their habitat. Tolerance is the Potho’s specialty; they make substantial beginner plants since they can withstand any sort of mistakes that new plant owners make such as overwatering or underwatering. They make great plants for owners who are too busy for regular maintenance or upkeep, though you should ideally never neglect a plant, the Golden Pothos will thrive just fine without your daily attention. A plant this hardy does not come without its fair share of problems; however, brown spots on leaves are very common and not necessarily deadly as they just indicate overwatering, too much sunlight or low humidity…and droopy leaves are just their way of telling you they need a good drink after which they will perk their leaves up again. Golden Pothos, like the M. deliciosa make great investment opportunities if you can’t get enough of them (aka. Propagation!!).
