As we are fast approaching American Thanksgiving, please remember that not everything you have at dinner is safe for your dog to also enjoy.

These busy gatherings can also be very stressful for your pup, so if they are not comfortable, give them a safe space to get away from all the hustle and bustle.

Happy Thanksgiving 🥧🍂🦃

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

- Lieutenant Colonel John Alexander McCrae

Lest we Forget

Remembrance Day is a day for us to remember and thank those who have fought for our freedom.

Take a moment today to bow your head in silence and give thanks, remembering the brave souls who made sacrifices.

Also, remember those brave animal soldiers who selflessly stood bravely beside the soldiers.

Thank you for your service.

In the spirit of Halloween, let's play a game!
What is your dog's Halloween Name? 🎃
How to play: take the birth month of your dog or the month you got your dog. Than add female or male then last add the color of your dog's coat.

So Bandit is a black, white and tan male and we got him in April with unknown birth month, so his Halloween Name is Eerie Von Goblincuts.

Saru is a black, white and tan male and his birth month is March, so his Halloween Name is Haunty Von Goblinguts

What is yours? Tell me in the comments! 👇

‼️💥‼️ Very Important Read Below‼️💥‼️

💥 I know alot of us travel with our dogs as a family, for competitions, or even for work. In our adventures with our trusted pups we often frequent hotels, campgrounds, rest stops, bathrooms, etc... But how many of us think to check for these things in the middle of our busy day trying to reach our next destination.

This is something that most certainly happen and is a very fast and scary thing to go through.
What do you do if it's in the middle of night? What do you do if the closest vet is 12hrs or even days away?

Have YOU thought about this⁉️💥

This is why it is very important to know the signs of toxicity and poisoning and what you can do!
We talk about a multitude of poisoning and toxins in our courses, this topic is always a hard topic to talk about but is very necessary. It is no different than knowing what to do if your dog has a broken bone, or arterial bleeding, or dealing with toxicity/poisoning. This is why first our courses are very important, so YOU know what to do and HOW to help your dog.

Be their first responder they NEED you to be!

As business owners, it's so hard to hit pause and take a break - because there is always something that needs to be done and because if we're honest we're obsessed with our businesses.

With this, we are taking some time off with our family to recharge before the busy fall and winter bookings. We are out of the office until Sept 3rd.

We will also have an exciting announcement when we get back!

We are excited to come back fully recharged for our amazing students!

Fireworks can be absolutely terrifying for dogs. Unless your dog is new to you, you probably already have a pretty good idea about how your dog feels about fireworks.
In our K9 First Aid Courses we talk about "training for treatment" so why not "train for fireworks?"

Here are a couple tips to get your started:
🐾 Take your dog out for some physical and mental exercise so they are nice and tired.
🐾 While your dog is resting put on a sound and/or video clip of fireworks. Start with a low volume and let it play. If you don't have enough time to train for this before the fireworks you can play some background noise, music to cover up the noise of the fireworks.
🐾 Each time you do this increase the volume slightly. This allows them to gradually get familiar with the sounds.
🐾 If the volume you have it at startles them do not get worked up yourself. You can turn it down slightly and reward them only when they are calm.
🐾 You can also bring them in a room in your house that is either in the basement or secluded that can muffle the sound of the fireworks.

For additional training ideas reach out to a trainer! If you dog requires medication, reach out to your veterinarian well before you know fireworks are going to be set off in your area.

Does anyone recognize our Canada Day mascots?
We have Bandit (on the right), our teachers assistant. And we have Saru (on the left) our newest member and still in training. We can't wait for him to join our classes soon as our newest teachers assistant. He has grown alot since last year. The second pics he was 15 weeks old. He still thinks he's that small haha.
