It's Hay Delivery Day!

To allow for a stress free offload, please park your vehicles on the South (back) or West (between the barn and the smaller mare pen) sides of the barn if you see a semi in the yard this afternoon.

Farm life is stressful. Keeping horses is stressful. The holiday season is stressful. Winter is stressful. LIFE IS STRESSFUL.

Due to the unusually warm temperatures scattered throughout the past month, we have not yet done our herd deworming for fall. Colder weather now seems to be here to stay and we will be getting this done next week. As always, fall dewormer (Quest Plus) is supplied and administered by us for all horses on the property at no additional charge. That said, I know some people have dewormed their own recently so if anyone does NOT need done, let me know by December 2nd (Tuesday) so that I don't buy more than I need.

Following one too many break out attempts, a secondary latch has been installed on the gate to the mare pasture. 🔐

A Pony of Interest has been identified as bay, roughly 14hh and approximately 25 years old. Until the suspect can be proven guilty and rehabilitated, please ensure the new latch is being used diligently - especially overnight and any time when there is not someone around the barn.

A reminder to everyone hauling that the road shoulders are SOFT and to use caution when moving over to allow oncoming traffic to pass, or when pulling over to the side of the road for any reason.

I just had to rescue a horse trailer from tipping into an extremely steep ditch after the driver had pulled over to program a GPS. Luckily the trailer was not loaded and we were able to pull it back on the road before it went down.

Always pay attention to your surroundings. Things go sideways (literally) when you least expect it.

A quick notice to those who may have been planning to come out today that I am a bit behind schedule with snow removal due to my loader breaking this morning.

As of now the yard is cleared up to the house and the road to the barn should be passable for most vehicles.

If you are in a smaller car or don't want to risk driving in the uncleared areas, you are welcome to park your car in front of the house but please do not block the garage.

Hopefully back up and running soon to get the rest cleared!
