Good afternoon everyone,

This coming Saturday September 14th, I will be running a horsemanship class from 9am until noon. This is a drop off program for children between the ages of 6 and 16. No previous horse experience is necessary.
We will be learning all about horses with a focus on proper communication between the horse and handler. We will also be spending time focusing on proper hoof care as well as proper saddle fitting and of course, riding!
The cost for this class is $50/child.

Good afternoon!
This coming September I (Elora Pony Pals) will once again be running an equine homeschooling class where I will be teaching horsemanship skills. This class is open to kids of all ages. Our focus will be on learning horsemanship; the art of reading body language and communicating with our equine friends in a gentle and respectful manner as well as building connections and a partnership with the horses. In turn, we will be learning to focus our own bodies and physical responses. Students will also have the opportunity to ride while being led; working their way up to being an independent rider.
This class is 1 hour long and will run for 4 weeks. The total cost is $80 per student (for all 4 weeks).
I will be running a class on Mondays at 11am starting September 9th and Wednesdays at 1pm starting September 4th.

Good evening everyone,

It has been quite a few weeks since I have scheduled classes. I apologize for the long absence; this summer has been filled with summer camps, private lessons and family vacations:)!

I have scheduled some new types of classes for the months of August and September!

This coming Saturday August 10th I will be doing a Pony Pals class at 9am. This is a 45 minute class for kids of any age. We will be focusing on grooming the horses and ponies but everyone will also get the chance to have a ride while being led by one of their parents. Cost is $20 per child.

Also on august 10th, I will be teaching a semi private lesson at 11:30. This one hour class is designed for the beginner rider looking to become more independent in their riding and grooming. Cost is $45/student.

As summer camp was such a hit, I will be running 2 more DAY CAMPS on August 28th and the 29th. Each day camp will run from 9 am until 4 pm. You can sign up for 1 day or both and the cost is $75 per child per day. This camp is a day of horse filled fun. We will be learning about communicating with horses through body language and how that plays into our riding; Grooming and tacking up as well as feeding and horse care.

Lastly, I am starting a Pony Club that I will run on random Saturday mornings (We are often away camping but when I am home I will run this class). This is a drop off program that will run from 9 am until noon. We will spend these mornings learning all about horses. How to care for them, their anatomy, all the different types of tack and how it is all used and of course, Riding! Cost is $50 per student.

Good Afternoon,

I have scheduled some classes for Thursday afternoon and Saturday morning. Classes are as follows:

Thursday at 4:30 will be a beginners riding lesson. This 1 hour lesson is designed to teach kids the basics of riding as well as grooming and tacking up. We will be working towards independence in all. There will be a maximum of 3 kids and cost is $35 each.

On Saturday at 9:30 there will be a pony pals class for 6 students. This class is a great introduction to horses. We will be spending the majority of our time grooming and interacting with the horses but each child will also have the opportunity to have a ride while being led by their parent. Cost is $20.

On Saturday at 10:30 I will be running a semi private lesson. This is a lesson for riders that have already attended at least 2 previous riding lessons and are ready to expand their independence and grow their control while riding. Cost is $45.

Good morning,

To register for either of these classes please follow the link below. Students must wear a boot with a heel (1/2 to 1 inch) in order to ride, and pants (no shorts!). The heel on a boot is a safety measure as it stops a child's foot from sliding all the way through the stirrup and getting stuck. Helmets will be provided.

Good Morning,

The last month has been a very quiet one on my end as my family and I went on a road trip to Utah. It would appear as though we missed out on a very wet and muddy spring! This coming week looks as though it has some warm and sunny days in store for us though, and so I have scheduled some classes!

On Tuesday at 4:30 I will be running a pony pals class for 6 students. It will be 45 minutes long and will cost $20. We will be mainly focusing on grooming the horses and ponies but everyone will also get the opportunity to have a ride while being led by their parents.

At 5:30 on Tuesday, I will be running a beginners riding lesson for 3 students. This is a 1 hour long lesson and cost is $35/student. This class will be focused on students learning the skills to become independent grooms and riders.

Good evening,

As the warm weather continues to hold with low winds, AND the sun now stays up just that little bit longer, I have set up some classes for this coming week and weekend.

Tuesday and Thursday after school classes will be held at 4:30 and will run for 1 hour with a focus on riders learning how to groom, tack up and ride independently.

Tuesday's class is for a group of 2 and will cost $50/child.

Thursday's class is for a group of 3 and will cost $35/child.

Smaller class sizes mean more individual instruction and more time in the saddle as we are able to get through the grooming and saddling process faster.

On Saturday, I will be running a Pony Pals program at 9:30. This is a great class for kids looking to love on some horses and generally become acquainted with being around them. Each child will also have a chance to ride while being led by their parent. The cost for this 45 minute class is $20.

I will also be running a 1 hour riding lesson at 10:30 on Saturday for a class size of 2 kids ($50/ student).

As always, please park behind the gate and make your way to the back yard where I will be waiting with the horses and ponies. Dress in layers; preferably no snow pants as they are hard to ride in and finger gloves are essential for dexterity while grooming and riding.

Good afternoon,
After a very drawn out wet and muddy fall, I am finally able to offer some more pony pal classes with the ground having firmed up at last.
I have scheduled three classes for this coming Saturday.
At 10:30am I will be running a Pony Pals class; all ages are welcome to this 45 minute class. The focus will be on grooming and general "horse time". Each student will also have the opportunity to ride while being led by their parent. Cost is $20/ student.
At 11:30 and 1:30 I will be running a Pony Club Class; again all ages are welcome, but this will be a 1 hour class more geared towards beginner horseback riding. Students will still be learning how to groom the horses in addition to tacking them up. We will focus on the basics of riding and control of the horse while in the saddle. Cost is $30/ student.

All participants must wear a boot with a heel and a helmet. I can provide a helmet, but if you bring your own, it must be a high impact helmet (Hockey, snowboard, skateboard etc). Finger gloves work best for dexterity and 2 pairs of pants are easier to ride in than snow pants (fleece pajamas over regular pants are perfect). Bulky snowsuits are very hard to move in on horseback.

Good morning,
I will be running three classes next Friday october 27th; a PD day!. Two of these classes will be the original pony pals class; a class for kids to learn how to groom the horses as well as to have a ride led by their parents. These classes will take place at 10am and 3pm. I will also be teaching a riding lesson at 4 pm. This will be a lesson for beginner riders to learn how to control their mount both through the use of the reins as well as through body language. This class is limited to 4 students and will run for one hour. Cost is $30/student.
On Wednesday November 1st, I will be running a class for ADULTS ONLY - this class will be for those over the age of 16 that want to learn how to ride; parents included. It will focus on the same principles outlined in the class for beginner kids. This class will run at 530pm and has a maximum of 4 spots.

Good morning,
I have scheduled 4 classes for this coming week on the days we are to see the sun:)

There will be pony pal classes on Tuesday and Wednesday at 4:30 both days. This class is an introductory class for kids wanting to learn how to groom horses and ponies. They will also get to have a ride while being led by an adult. This is a 45 minute class and has a maximum of 6 students.

I will also be doing a class for those wanting to take their riding one step further. On Tuesday and Wednesday at 530, I will be teaching a beginners riding lesson. Kids will still be on a lead line, but the goal will be for them to be in control of their mount as we learn how to use reigns and have proper body positioning in the saddle. This is a 1 hour class and has a maximum of 4 riders.

If you sign up and will be attending any of the classes, please park near the house and then make your way into the back yard. Payment can be made in cash upon arrival.

If you can not make it to the class after registering, please CALL me at 5194001604. I often have people on a waitlist and they will gladly take your spot:)

Riders and guardians should wear boots with a heel. Rubber boots will work! This is for safety as it stops your child's foot from sliding too far into the stirrup as well as adds protection from hooves in the event that someone gets a foot stepped on. Helmets will be provided but if you would prefer to bring your own, a high impact helmet must be worn. ie hockey, ski or snowboard helmet but no bike helmets.
