An update for you guys on the balanced chicken! When we switched to adding bison organs to the chicken mix, while many were super excited, some had concerns due to allergy restrictions and voiced they MUCH prefer single protein blends. Well, we LISTENED! We have gone BACK to the single protein, balanced chicken made of 100% CHICKEN AND NOTHING ELSE! 👏🏻🙌🏼

Many thanks to the Saskatoon SPCA for having Stacey out to evaluate some Canine GREAT Neighbors! 👏🏻 💜 the work that you all have put in with your dogs is so clear, and it was a pleasure to be a part!

Congratulations to Saskatchewan’s newest Canine Good Neighbour teams! Thank you to everyone who came out to support our first test. We will host more in the future, so stay tuned. We believe in responsible pet ownership, and the Canine Good Neighbour program sets a great example for all dog lovers. Thank you to evaluator Stacey Morrison, and to all of our volunteers who came to help.

We miss you.

Lately, things have quieted down a little and have finally started to level out after the crazy series of unfortunate events this summer. Stacey and I have finally gotten a chance to sit back and reconcile everything that happened, everything that’s happening now and everything that we hope happens in the future and one common theme keeps popping up… we miss you guys.

We miss the Frankie’s, the Maggie’s and the Nyx’s ALWAYS good for a quick butt wiggle and serious zoomie. 🐾

We miss the stern but fair government rulings of George, every town needs their sheriff and he was ours. 👮‍♂️

We miss the Georgia’s and the Jaxon’s, that taught us the most spicy things tend to come in the smallest packages. 🌶️

We miss the GoGo & Scar superpowers of being able to somehow goad any dog, human, or otherwise into an audible argument. 💥

We miss the impromptu Gus drop offs, the Bowen “load up”’s, and the Rocky tippy tappy happy feet. 🐥

We miss being hopelessly tangled in leashes every Thursday, as we collect a rag tag group of spunky beagles and their regal queen Inara. 👑

We miss the Bronx slobbery head tilts, the incredibly shy curiosity of little Renn and Reign’s ability to bat her pretty girl eyes at all the boys. 👀

We miss the Stella & Mavis snorts, the unconditional love and teddy bear vibes from Sheldon and the pure, confident independence of Koda. 🧸

We miss the Felon who reminded us that a good home can bring out a good dog no matter what, and the Lily that taught us FUN is more important than anything, including having functional limbs. 🤩

We miss the blissfully ignorant June bug, the ever smiling Chekai and the Russell who truly didn’t care what shape, size or color you were as long as you were into rolling around and going FAST. 💨

We miss the Grover who taught us that the scarier you look, the bigger the baby you probably are on the inside. 💕

We miss the Freya that taught us your past doesn’t define you, and we thank her every day for giving humans a second chance. 🙏🏼

We miss the Tookie that taught us what it really means to earn a dogs trust and how amazing those stubborn ones can be once you crack them. 😇

We miss the work ethic of Trin, and having to be careful not to accidentally signal her it’s time to work… AGAIN. 💪🏼

We miss the surprise Crosby haircut days and making sure to let him know just how handsome he was. 🐶

We miss the EPIC farm stories that Beckett always showed up with, we’ve never met a dog that clearly has 9 lives until him. 🌾

We miss the sights and more importantly sounds of Titan, Earl and pretty much everyone else present that day, ALWAYS performing their obligatory howling duty when sirens zoomed by. 🚨

And last, but certainly not least… the people. We miss your trust in us to take care of your family members like our own, we miss how much you believed in us when asking for advice or how to trouble shoot problems and probably most importantly we miss the friendship and support. Many of you are far more than clients and will continue to be for the rest of time- we never took for granted when you asked us how our day went, or commiserated with us in the bad times or just shared our love of dogs with us whenever we needed it. It was and is so appreciated so just know that you completely impacted our lives, every single time you walked through the Survive doors and we thank you for that.

These dogs were just a drop in the bucket of those that came through our doors, and these posts unfortunately have silly character limits but please know each and every one of your dogs made a lasting impression whether they were listed or not, we remember and love them all.

So, tonight give them a scratch from us and make sure you tell them that the Survive girls trust they’ve been on their best behaviour since our last visit… and if you see us out and about on the street, and you’re with your dog… please say hi. You don’t know how much we need it right now, but we really do. 💜
