Available at the Stony Plain location: identity Pet Nutrition Gently Cooked Diets.
Are they cost effective? No, not really for a larger dog or multi-dog household😆
But here’s some benefits that may help to justify the cost:
🐾Gently cooked diets are great for senior dogs with sensitive stomachs. If you were formerly a raw feeder and your dog just seems “turned off” by it, gently cooked can be a bit easier on the tummy and immune system. Or conversely if you’ve tried a number of kibbles with your dog and things still don’t seem to be going well, gently cooked diets are generally tolerated quite well!
🐾 Dogs who are raw-fed and undergo any surgical operation (especially dental surgeries) may be required to discontinue raw for a short-term. This is a great substitute!
🐾If you home cook but need a break, these are very convenient!
🐾If you have recently got a puppy (especially a rescue where there’s an increased risk of digestive distress), and are uncertain of their tummy/immune history, this can be an easy way to start to introduce raw in a gentler way.
🐾If you would like to feed raw but are immunocompromised or have someone in your household who is, this can be a great substitute.
🐾Picky dogs: this is actually the crowd that gravitates most towards a gently cooked diet. The light cooking releases more scent in the final product, making it more attractive to a dog that gets bored easy or doesn’t have an affinity for food.
These come frozen but due to the way they are packaged. will thaw quick!
