You know Pepper and Paddy and River and Trixie,
Porter and Denver and Benji and Penny…

But do you recall,
The most famous schoolie of all….

Melvin the grain-nosed schoolie
had a very messy nose
and if you ever groomed him
you would get grain on your clothes

All of the other schoolies
Used to laugh and call him names (like Smelvin)
They never let poor Melvin,
Join in any pony games

Then one snowy Christmas Eve,
Hugsy came to say
“Melvin with your face of food,
won’t you help me feed Maplewood”

Then all the schoolies loved him,
As they licked his face all clean,
Melvin the grain-nosed schoolie
You’re the messiest we’ve seen!!!

The Holiday Riding Days in December/January and over March Break are now open for registration! These programs are open for anyone 7 years of age and over. Yes, that means that adults are VERY welcome to join in for a fun learning day!

All students and boarders please remember that (as always) if you wear any clothing or equipment (including boots) to another facility that they must be fully washed & sanitized before being brought to Maplewood! Thanks for helping keep our herd safe!

And on the 7th day of the Schoolie vacation, Rhonda and René were nowhere to be found. Someone left the gate open so they went camping. Of course, it had to be near horses so they went to Wesley Clover Parks. What a great week!
