Looking for training or lessons, and wasn’t able to get in with me ? I’ve been able to secure a few extra stalls at Sky Valley Farm for the winter and spring months, located in Nictaux and owned by Norma Grahm and just 5 minutes from Crooked Creek Performance Horses.

If you are looking to have a youngster started, or your show horse ready for spring …and anything in between, we have 2 rare extra spots and are opening them to new clients starting December 1st

Congrats to all of those that showed this weekend at the Hants County Final. Hard to miss the giant smile on Holly Chows face of Bits and Bridles Tack Shop with her horse Barney. Shelly Longmire with her new boy Mash and Dylan McCormick with Samantha Swinamer…. Everyone looked fantastic, especially Barney’s feet 😉 lol

While at a client's location today in Sackville, I took advantage of the opportunity to capture some photographs during the veterinarian's work. We are collaborating to enhance the comfort level of an off-the-track Thoroughbred with its farrier work.

The process includes removing excess growth, vertical trimming of the toe for reduced break over, utilizing dental impression, pads, and wedge shoes.

The outcome is a more comfortable horse, which serves as an example of a client's dedication to providing the best possible care for their horse.
I look forward to being able to post progress as we continue

As the 2024 show season is fast closing, it’s time to think about 2025 goals. My fall and winter schedule is limited to existing and pre-booked clients for both training and farrier services.

Please see the following as the structure of offered services will be changing for 2025

- Farrier service rates will remain the same with out an increase for 2025
- Farrier services will still be offered for haul in service at Crooked Creek (periodically) if needed to accommodate outside my service areas.

- Monthly board and training will be available for in-house horses, pre- existing customers and new clients purchasing horses from Crooked Creek Performance Horses exclusively.
-Training will be tailored to suit the individual needs of both client and horse to become a successful team.
-All boarding and training will be offered at Crooked Creek Performance Horses
- Prices and packages will be customized to the goals of clients and horses needs

-Lessons and show horse lease packages available from Crooked Creek Performance Horse stock

- Public Lesson will be offered on property only and offered both on my horses or clients own horses with lessons on Mondays & Thursdays to Sunday.

- Birthday parties and Kids Day Camps will also be offered on site by Crooked Creek stay tuned for posts when offered.

- Group lessons are welcomed
- Half day and Full day clinics and training refreshers will be available and can be tailored to any group or discipline

2025 will also have a line up of performance horses for sale for those in the market for a quality breed prospect for a wide range of disciplines specializing in the reining, ranch and pleasure disciplines.

Tremendous amount of talent at this week’s AQR/NRHA show in Quebec congrats to all the winners. A fantastic and well run show as always.
Not where I would have liked to been placed but it happens to the best of teams. Finished 8th&10th in the Novice Horse on Idem Chic Dream owned by Crooked Creek Performance Horses.
Looking forward to some down time this winter to concentrate on becoming a better team with this mare.

Lily Marshall just turned 9 on the 10th and she’s all the way from PEI spending her summer here in the Valley with family. Lily spent her Monday evenings at Crooked Creek having lessons and leaving everyone with smiles 🙂 We will miss your visits now that school will soon be in for her at PEI .. see you next summer Lily

When your clinician says “ it’s a pilot error”15times followed by a let me show you, removes the bridle and proceeds to show you what the horse can do if you ask him correctly ! Don’t just get yourself a trainer, clinician, or coach … get yourself a true horsemen or horsewoman 😉 “ I’ve ridden for 20 years, I’ve had great coaches and I ain’t never seen anything like that ! Always good to do a ton of desensitizing exercises on a young horse who’s not seen a lot … especially while the wind is strong 🤣 Blue was a super star today and his owner wants a bomb safe mount when training is completed
