This is what rescue looks like.
Spike came from a feral colony in North Kamloops near Willow/Poplar Street. A kind neighbour often saw him hanging out with the kittens and thought he was a mama cat.
He looked rough and we were eager to help, but Spike was clever and avoided our traps for quite a while.
Now that he’s in care, he’s made incredible progress — not just in how he looks, but in how much he’s learned to trust. His long coat was severely matted, but now he’s allowing gentle “salon sessions” to help shave off the painful mats, and even enjoys some well-earned affection.
This is what rescue looks like: patience, care, and the belief that every cat deserves a second chance.
Sammy’s Forgotten Felines is funded entirely by donations.
To help more cats like Spike, e-transfers can be sent to [email protected] or cat food donations can be dropped off at The Stock Pot Café (970 Laval Crescent).
