Happy World Veterinary Day! 🐾

Today, we celebrate the compassionate care veterinary teams provide to clients and patients worldwide. It’s a day to acknowledge the dedication, compassion, expertise, and challenges that go into caring for animals.

As we celebrate, it’s important to recognize the challenges that veterinary professionals face every day:

🧑🏽‍⚕️ Staffing Shortages: Many veterinary practices continue to face ongoing shortages of skilled veterinary professionals. This not only effects workload and psychological demands, but can lead to burnout.

💆 Emotional Toll: Veterinary professionals often experience compassion fatigue, dealing with difficult decisions, such as euthanasia, and coping with the emotional highs and lows that come with patient care.

⚖️ Work-Life Balance: Long hours, weekends, overtime, and being on-call can take a toll on personal time, leaving many veterinary professionals struggling to find balance and time for self-care.

As we reflect on these challenges, let's express our gratitude and offer support to those who work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of pets and their families, even when it's at the expense of their own wellbeing.

To all the veterinary professionals worldwide, you are not alone. Thank you for everything you do 💜

As Veterinary Receptionist Week continues, we’re proud to spotlight another standout member of our Front Line Advocate (FLA) team: Tyra. 💜

Tyra joined VetGo in 2024 with a strong background in both Client Care and Animal Care Assistant roles in general and emergency clinics across Ontario. Before transitioning into veterinary medicine, she worked with the RCMP—while dedicating her free time to volunteering with animal rescues and caring for exotic birds, cats, and dogs. Today, her remote support role allows her to continue making an impact across veterinary teams nationwide.

Tyra is recognized for her exceptional attention to detail, strong initiative, and passion for learning. Whether she’s developing SOPs, mastering new software platforms, or proactively identifying workflow improvements, she consistently goes above and beyond. She completes tasks ahead of schedule, communicates clearly, and frequently shares practical solutions with the team—contributing to a smoother experience for both practices and her fellow FLAs.

Her consult notes are warm, professional, and well-structured—earning praise from colleagues who say it feels like she’s right there in the clinic. Team members often comment on how confident and at ease they feel starting a shift after her.

Outside of work, Tyra enjoys spending time with her three dogs—a Shih Tzu, Husky Malamute, and Aussie Lab mix—exploring trails, visiting local markets, and soaking up sunshine in the garden.

We’re grateful for the reliability, drive, and thoughtfulness Tyra brings to every shift. Her contributions are a true reflection of our mission: to create better lives for veterinary teams, their patients, and clients.

Happy Veterinary Receptionist Week to Tyra, and every veterinary receptionist!

As we continue celebrating Veterinary Receptionist Week, we’re proud to spotlight another one of our incredible Front Line Advocates (FLAs): Samuel! 💜

Born and raised in Ontario, Samuel has had a lifelong fascination with animals—from growing up with pets and visiting zoos, to watching animal-focused shows and playing Pokémon. That early passion sparked a clear path: a career working with animals.

Samuel began his journey in a reptile zoo, where he gained hands-on experience caring for unique species. Eager to learn more about veterinary care, he transitioned into clinical practice and has now spent the past four years supporting veterinary teams in both in-clinic and remote roles.

Since joining VetGo, Samuel has supported clinics across Canada with adaptability, initiative, and a calm, professional presence. He’s known for his exceptional written communication, quick learning with new software systems, and proactive approach to problem-solving—often identifying and sharing practical solutions that help the whole team.

Samuel’s passion for exotic species brings a unique perspective to his work, and his collaborative spirit makes him a valued team member of each practice he supports.

Outside of work, you’ll likely find Samuel immersed in a video game, enjoying a horror movie, or out in nature. He also enjoys travelling, with a bucket list that includes Mount Kilimanjaro, Bolivia, and the Amazon rainforest.

We’re so grateful for the knowledge, enthusiasm, and heart Samuel brings to VetGo and to every veterinary team he supports.

Happy to Samuel, and to all the client care professionals who make a difference in the lives of clients and their pets every day.
