Well! Rodeo calls backs are in and willow and are will be running in the slack Saturday at the south mountain rodeo!! The slack for those who don’t know is those who couldn’t all fit into the performance and run after the show. Main performance on Saturday is at 6pm so we will be running at 8 or 9 pm I hope 🤞🏻 🤠

We’ve been keeping busy!
Show season has kicked off and willow and I made our first outing at the first Horse a Rama of the season!
We are gearing up for a 3 day weekend at the Big daddy’s Classic on June 21-23!

Hello new and old followers! I just wanted to take a moment to share a little bit about Heart and soul equestrian services. Officially established in 2020, Heart and soul equestrian services began as I had been working with horses for 10 years plus and wanted to create something for myself. I started by offering sheath cleaning which over the years has really taken off! New and returning clients every year! As part of my services I also offer horse training. Backing, ground work, desensitization and refreshers as well as exercise rides. I’m a firm believer in a solid foundation in ground work and ensuring the horse is mentally and physically prepared for what I ask them for before throwing a leg over them. Focusing on educating the horse and the rider to build a quality relationship. 🤠🐴

A before and after!
This is Millie, a paint mare I’ve been working with since summer. When I started with Millie she was a super fearful and reactive mare, scared of her own shadow. Things as simple as standing on the cross ties to be groomed was a task. She was unable to stay in a stall and had only had bad experiences with attempt to back her.
I began working with her and brought her back to just ground work and getting her more comfortable in her own skin! Once we had accomplished some basic ground work and got more desensitized towards things, I started her back under saddle. She excelled quickly, with her new understanding of the world. I can now say Millie is going walk, trot, canter under saddle and even went for a hack down the road! She ground ties and will happy stay in a stall for hours.

Millie will continue her training with myself and her family who is learning all the ropes of owning a green horse. It is so nice to be able to help a horse and her people learn to be one with each other and reach their goals!

As the year comes to an end, I’d like to reflect back on the amazing year we had! This year I stepped back from showing and only made it out to 3 shows but this year I took the time to just enjoy my mares. Enjoyed the little things n spending quality time with them outside of the ring. Worked with my training horses and also added more buttons to my own. I’m so grateful to have such great horses not only Bella and Willow but all the other horses I’ve gotten to work with! As we go into the new year I have some new goals, some new ideas and have planned to try some new things! I have plans to be in the show ring and get out to as much as I can! Not only in the barrel pen but the dressage arena also!! We are looking forward to all the great things 2024 has in store for us!!
