Little Miss Poppy wading in the river

This is about as deep as she will go before turning back to shore. Also typically where she yells at me from if I'm in the water and she's frustrated that she can't come see me 😆

She will go deeper if it's crossing a creek and she can see the other side, or will occasionally come see me in deeper water.

Our next visit after San Francisco was to Stinson Beach area, just up the coastline 🌊

Despite it being foggy, it was just the walk on the beach we all needed. The slight chill (which made it comfortable for us to be honest) led to the place being almost deserted, and we were there in the evening so most cars were on their way out when we arrived. We enjoyed a mini picnic before hitting the road again.

The beaches were definitely a highlight for us on this trip. I'm not sure whether it's because we don't have the ocean close to us here, but I find it so grounding & regenerative. Tica LOVES to run and explore on the beach. As you can see, she even got her toes wet a couple of times... whether that was intentional or not, I'm not sure 😆

We spent about an hour or so walking around near Lombard Street in San Francisco, taking it all in

We loved the colors - the lush greens, bright pops of flowers, the vibrant houses, the bright blue skies 🩵 The history and the different architecture was really fascinating too.

When we travel to new areas, I'm constantly researching and reading about the history of the spot... which there was no shortage of history in this city!

Brad often makes fun of me for reading up on an area, to read where things got their names and such 🤣 It passes time on a road trip, plus I'm just curious 🧐 Anyone else this way?

San Francisco, you did not disappoint 🚃

We stopped for an afternoon in San Francisco - first stop, the iconic Lombard Street

We also hit up Filbert Street and Bradford's Street, which is said to have a 41% grade 😯 We drive a lot of steep back country roads, but we've never seen anything like these steep city roads... It's truly something to experience!

🌴🌴 We made it to our destination, Sacramento 🌴🌴

We spent 2 nights here, and found lots to do! As a couple of Albertans travelling in early May, we were absolutely enthralled by all the greenery 😍... and it was HOT 🥵

We spent an afternoon down at Old Town Sacramento, which was cool to see all the old buildings, trains & cobblestone streets.

Next stop on our way south was the incredible Bonneville Salt Flats. It truly feels like they're from a different world....

Next stop on our way south was the incredible Bonneville Salt Flats. It truly feels like they're from a different world. Salt as far as you can see! Very bright & windy... cue the squinty eyes.

We only put Tica down quickly for the one photo, we weren't sure how the salt would be on her paws. As you can see in most of the pictures, she thought it was much too windy and bright to be enjoyable too 😝

This is a must stop if anyone is ever in the area - I imagine it would be quite spectacular at sunset! This was definitely a highlight (quite literally & figuratively) of our 6 day road trip!

This is also where the land speed records are set, and a mecca for car racing. We also saw a ton of salt mines for harvesting. It seems half and half when we ask people if they've heard of this area - have you heard of it, or been?

We haven't been very active on social media for a while, but there's been lots going on behind the scenes.

We went on a 5,700km roadtrip to meet a hopeful lundie boyfriend in California for Tica - unfortunately unsuccessful 😔

While it was sad that we didn't have much success with the breeding, we got an epic roadtrip out of it & an awesome adventure with Tica beside us.

She's a fabulous traveller - her favorite was when Brad was taking a nap in the back during our epic 28hr straight through drive, & she got to ride shot gun in the front seat.

The picture of her in the grass is when we stopped to gas up & feed her breakfast near Pocatello, Idaho.

Have you ever taken a long road trip with your dog? If so, where to? 🐾

And then you'll find her on the cushy chair by the campfire, thank you very much ☺️🔥... I mean it doesn't hurt that conveniently, that's also where the food is 😆

She's also a great foot warmer, and will sleep under the covers at night if she's given the option.

She definitely enjoys the finer things in life 👑

Do you guys know the true meaning of first world problems torture?

It's not knowing whether your dog is pregnant or not! 😜😂

The over analytical side of my brain is constantly palpating her belly and tissues, looking at the color of her belly, ni**le, & gums... and all the other anecdotal signs I've been given to look for 😅

We weren't going to ultrasound this time because it doesn't change the outcome, but I'm truly driving myself crazy 🤣

We have some sad news to share 😔 Although we had 2 pups + confirmed by ultrasound, Tica is empty and does not have any puppies in her. Today would have been her due date 🥺 While we were very excited to meet some pups, the most important thing is that she is happy and healthy - which she very much is. We love the connections we have made with Kim, Mark, & Muggles, and will try again in the new year 🤞🏼🩷✨

Tica following her dreams at the barn... Or mice 🐭, in her case! 0% regrets 😂 Tica 10/10 recommends

😂 When you come around the corner to the whelping pen, and Poppy is passed out on her back in the bed! It's nice to see Poppy taking a bit of a break from the puppies - she's such a good momma she usually doesn't want to leave their side! 💙

💕 The queen gets what the queen wants 👑 ...and currently it's food, blowdries and brushes, naps, and more food... oh did I mention, food? 🥺 How sweet is she!? Only about a week or so left to go! 🖤

🤍 Daily dose of cuteness They're exploring their world and each other with their mouth.... priming for when they have their razor puppy teeth 🤣 So stinkin cute!

The difference between easy going Frat Boy & sassy Tica in one video 😆 I just adore them both. Sound on to hear their adorable noises 💗🤍

Poppy is the sweetest momma 💗 Look at how they're getting around already! This is the sweet + more easy going of the two, the boy 🤍
