Mid June recap on the farm. Summer veggies like zucchini, cucumbers, and tomatoes are starting to produce a crop. The last of the spring veggies are being harvested like lettuce, salad turnips, carrots, beets, and peas. We harvested all the garlic for 2024, and it is curing in our greenhouse.

We've begun prepping beds for the first fall crops like winter squash!

Almost harvest time! This bed of arugula and baby red russian kale was seeded just a few weeks ago and covered with the kwik Hoops and plastic. Shouldn't be long till we're harvesting a lovely salad blend!

CSA Week: One of our biggest compliments and frequent comments is on our quality! We often get comments that our produce and microgreens last so much longer in the fridge and have so much more flavor.

It isn't anything special we do. It's just fresh produce grown seasonally. Our products are never more than a week old by the time you're receiving them, which makes them last longer compared to what you're getting from the store.

Our products also have more flavor because they're fresh (produce loses nutrients after they're harvested, so the fresher the more nutrients that are still present), and grown seasonally. In the U.S. we're used to 12 month produce grown out of season, but the truth of the matter is that veggies and fruit taste better when they're grown in the right season. (Kale tastes better when it's grown in the cold).

Quality is just one reason why our members love buying and supporting local. This year, it's time to give our produce a shot and stop the frustration of sorting through old spoiled produce.

IT'S CSA WEEK! Do You Know Your Farmer?

What is CSA Week? CSA week is the week where farmers all across North America are promoting their CSA and encouraging customers to support their farm.

Why? Well, because it's almost spring, which means the start of a new farming season and the chance to get to know your local farmer and support your local food system!

ABOUT US: Eastbound Acres is an urban market farm with multiple growing locations in the Long Beach Island, New Jersey area.
With 10 years of farming experience, Chris is continuing to provide his community with clean, wholesome produce through regenerative, natural farming practices.
We hope you enjoy the produce, and we welcome you to the community.We take pride in our farms and the exceptional products they yield. From farm-fresh veggies to dried flowers, our commitment to quality and sustainable farming practices sets us apart.

HOW DOES IT WORK?: Join our CSA and choose from one of our two models. We offer a traditional box where we choose what 8-10 items are in each week's share or our new buy-down model, which gives you the buying power through our online market. It's essentially store credit in either $250, $500 or $1000 with a wholesale discount of 20 % on all our online products. Each week is delivered on Thursday. The traditional box memberships start in May and run into November for 25 weeks of fresh produce. The buy down model starts in April and online credit expires December 1st, 2024.

We know that's a lot to process at one time, but that's why we have CSA week! You'll be hearing more about our farm CSA all week, so we hope you'll join us!

Experimenting with some natives today! We have always focused on native ecology and bringing/regenerating native ecology into our farming practices as much as possible.

This year, we are dabbling with growing and raising our own native plants in hopes of adding native biodiversity to all our farms and gardens that we maintain as well as the possibility of adding native plant sales for our valued customers.
