The facility has officially been open for one month. In this time, we have received 26 surrenders (nearly one per day) and 2 adoptions. Ball pythons continue to be the most frequently surrendered animal, at 11 surrenders this month.

Giving Jeffery a new shot at life. 🥰 Jeffery has lived in this tiny enclosure his entire life, being forced to live in his own waste. Thankfully, concerned family members recognized the animal wasn't being cared for, and even though they are terrified of snakes, they brought him (and a ball python) to the rescue for a better life. Jeffery now lives in a 4x2x2 enclosures from @reptileready and will be available once their quarantine period ends. The ball python that was surrendered in the same living conditions is undergoing treatment for a respiratory infection.

"Caudal luring is a form of aggressive mimicry characterized by the waving or wriggling of the predator's tail to attract prey. This movement attracts small animals who mistake the tail for a small worm or other small animal. When the animal approaches to prey on the worm-like tail, the predator will strike" and strike, she did!
We are looking for volunteers to fill the following roles:
🦎Adoption Co-ordinator🐸
Time commitment: 2 hours/week
Positions available: 1
Requirements: Must be comfortable to interview people on the phone or through e-mail.
You will be responsible for reviewing adoption applications within 48 hours of receival, contacting the interested parties and conducting an interview of what their expectations are, care requirements, equipment required, etc. This will require a time commitment of approximately 2 hours each week.
📝Educational Writer🐢
Time commitment: at your leisure
Positions available: multiple
Requirements: Must be able to review research from various sources, compile information, and create educational content. Content can involve: graphics with informational tips and "did you know?", care sheets, blog posts, and social media content. Work at your leisure and write about what you love.
