Dear Uptown Dawg friends & family,
We understand the growing concern surrounding COVID-19 and we want you to know that the safety and well-being of our clients, pets, employees and families is our number one priority. Currently, it is our hope that we can continue operations and provide the services that our clients need and rely on daily. In saying that, we are taking measures to limit any exposure to COVID-19 by deciding to close our store doors to foot traffic at our Port Moody & New Westminster locations only.
We will gladly be open for to our 4-legged friends and have our staff on hand to care for and love your dogs as we do every day. The following changes will go into effect Thursday, March 19 at 6am. We will be offering a “valet” service for our daycare, bed & breakfast, and grooming dogs; and for any supplies that you may need from our stores.
Please follow the guidelines below:
· When dropping off your dog at Uptown Dawg; please call the store once you are in the parking lot, stay in your vehicle, and wait for our staff to assist you. We will come get your dog from the vehicle for you and bring them inside. Please stay in your vehicle.
· If your dog coming in for a groom and there are any additional notes, or changes from the last groom on file, please call the store so you can speak to the groomer directly to discuss this.
· When picking your dog up for any of the services listed above, please call us 5 minutes prior to your arrival to make payment over the phone (if you have not prepaid) and for us to get your dog ready. Please wait in the car and we will bring your dog out to you. If you are uncomfortable paying over the phone, we can bring a wireless debit/credit machine out to the car for you if you have tap. We will be disinfecting this machine between each use. Please keep in mind we are implementing these measures to follow social distancing.
· If you need any supplies for your dog, please call 10-15 minutes prior to arriving so that we can have time to pull things together for you and take payment. Please have your trunk or hatch open so that we may place the items in your car.
· If you do not have a phone, we ask that you come to the door and knock loudly, take a step back, and we will come outside to talk to you.
IMPORTANT CHANGES TO STORE HOURS:
Uptown Dawg Port Moody:
Hours of Operation will remain the same. We will not be accepting cash at this time.
Uptown Dawg New West:
Hours of Operation will be changed to 6:00am - 5:00pm Monday – Friday. We will not be accepting cash at this time.
Uptown Dawg Port Coquitlam:
Hours of Operation will be changed to 9:00am - 4:00pm Monday – Saturday, and 11:00am-4:00pm on Sundays. Daycare will be closed until further notice, effective Thursday, March 19. Store operations will run as normal however we would advise that you pay with card at this time.
At this time there is no evidence that pets can contract, infect, or spread COVID-19 to humans.
We understand everyone’s concerns and want to assure you we have accelerated our cleaning and sanitizing efforts for our 2 & 4 legged guests. At Uptown Dawg we have a very thorough cleaning regiment to prevent virus transmission to our furry friends. We have implemented new sanitizing regulations and are now sanitizing every 30 minutes throughout all facilities. This includes all our door handles, counters, P.O.S. machines, phones, grooming tables, food/water bowls, equipment, toys, play areas, and anything that is regularly used. Our staff is very aware of washing their hands frequently and sanitizing all stations often.
We ask that if any of the following applies to you that you please do not bring your dog to Uptown Dawg:
You have traveled outside of Canada in the last 14 days,
You have had close contact with anyone who has traveled outside of Canada in the last 14 days,
You are experiencing symptoms of coughing, difficulty breathing, fever, or fatigue,
You have had close contact with anyone experiencing the above symptoms,
You have a compromised immune system.
We do want to be able to keep our doors open during this very stressful and challenging time. We need your help to be vigilant and keep this safe for everyone. Please respect that we want to abide by the rules of social distancing and maintain business as usual. This situation is evolving quickly, and we will be monitoring it closely. We appreciate your cooperation during this time and will continue to provide further information as this progresses. We hope you are your family stay healthy and safe during this time! Feel free to stay in contact with us as we are always here for you and your pets. We are still operating and look forward to snuggling your pup again very soon!
