Better Beginnings Kitten Rescue We are a small scale kitten and cat rescue located in Kamloops BC that also help with local surrounding communities.

We a volunteer based rescue with direct-to-foster care for our rescued, abandoned and stray felines.

THANK YOU to everyone who joined us at not one, not two but THREE "Kitten Meet and Greets" this weekend at Petland Kamloops, Bosley's by Pet Valu & Total Pet

Just a reminder; if you submitted an application, our adoption team is working as fast as they can to contact everyone, but they are still volunteers and working around their own work schedules as well as yours :) Rest assured, you will be contacted either by text message or email to set up your interview. Meet Rain

Rain is a beautiful grey tabby with soulful eyes. She can be timid and bashful at first but is working on being brave. She enjoys following her humans around and enticing them to play and when she’s not being a shadow she is snuggling in bed and getting pets. Rain would do best in a quieter environment with young children who have been around cats before and would benefit from a sibling or another cat to help her come out of her shell.

We're doing our best but we are officially at MAXIMUM capacity and our intake is CLOSED!

We want to say "Yes" to everyone who reaches out to us to help but the reality is, we just can't. We now have a waiting list of over 14 kittens waiting to come into our care with more being added every day. It PAINS us to say no...and even when we do, we still somehow say yes.

We NEED foster homes and yes, we know it's summer time and everyone has plans, but kitten season NEVER takes a vacation. We are asking for a minimum of a 4 week to a maximum of an 8 week foster commitment to help us get through this intense season.

Meet Pumpkin

Pumpkin is a special little girl, exuding tons of tortitude! The smallest of her litter, she's also the feistiest and most loving. She enjoys playing with any and all toys she can find, exploring the outer reaches of her territory, then cuddling on your lap for pets, scruffles, and a long leisurely cat nap. She would do well in an attentive household with or without other pets.

Meet Rue

Rue is a high energy handsome boy. He has a love for the outdoors and a longing for companionship. He will always be by your side and loves his treats (chicken chunks are his favorite). This guy loves to be loved on and in return he will definitely be down to snuggle up. If he doesn’t get enough attention he can get a bit mouthy, so ensuring he gets lots of playtime with his loving humans is recommended. He loves to jump into bed with you and snuggle. He would be better suited to have supervised outdoor time (harness and leash) and/ or another cat friend to play with. A home with younger children would not be his best fit.

Meet Penelope

Here is the gorgeous Penelope. She has officially retired from being a momma and is ready to take on the world as an independent tabby cat. She is looking for a home where she can come and go as she pleases with indoor and outdoor access. She is mostly an indoor cat but still longs for outdoor adventure at her leisure. She is friendly towards adults and hesitant with younger children, litter trained and would do well in a home with other pets with proper and slow introduction.
