So what exactly is fear-free grooming?

Fear-free grooming is using alternative techniques and methods used during a grooming process. Whether that is constant positive praise, petting, using high value treats or different methods types of grooming tools.

This may look like laying in the ground cuddling a dog, while clipping their nails. Or it can look like using a treat mat smothered in peanut butter in the tub.

I’ve seen pups’ come in who HATED everything grooming; the water, the tools, being touched in odd places, having a stranger all up in their space or even just a previous bad experience. Using this tricks and tips can make our dogs do a complete 180 into actually enjoying the process.

While using fear-free grooming techniques, it allows our pups’ to feel more relaxed, safe and confident during the groom.

Let’s normalize our pups’ mental state being the #1 priority.
