With summer festivities kicking off, we want to remind you about the symptoms of heatstroke and prevention tips:

🚗Never leave your pet unattended in a car

☀️When hot/humid, keep your pet’s time outdoors limited

💦Keep your pet hydrated

🌬️Ensure your pet has ventilation and a cool environment

➡️Dogs with short noses are at higher risk due to their condensed facial anatomy and restricted ability to cool themselves

If any signs of heat stroke appear, please contact our team immediately.

Please help us spread awareness by tagging your pet parent friends in the comments and by sharing this post!

Alveolar echinococcosis is caused by infection with the larval stage of Echinococcus multiocularis. AE is found across the globe and is especially prevalent in the northern latitudes of Europe, Asia and North America. The adult tapeworm is normally found in foxes, coyotes and dogs. Infection with the larval stages is transmitted to people through ingestion of food or water contaminated with tapeworm eggs. In Canada, Echinococcus multiocularis is endemic in Ontario and monthly deworming for Echinococcus spp is recommended.

Other questions to ask yourself:
Are there any young children, persons with compromised immune systems or pregnant women in your house? Is your pet a service animal? Does your pet have access to wildlife like rodents, rabbits, birds and carcasses of livestock or deer, Do you feed your pet raw meat or organs? Does your pet have contact with highly contaminated environments such as dog parks and kennels?
