Did you know May marked a full year of business for Fit Fido ! Yippee!

I am so thankful that I get to share my love of dogs and training with all of my clients. I have continued to grow my knowledge and skills throughout this year to be better able to support my clients.

Good morning my dog lovers!
Let's take a look at signs of salt water poisoning to ensure we're more mindful and safe with our pups at the beach.

Trace amounts of saltwater isn't harmful however, ingesting too much can do serious damage or be fatal.
I recommend always bringing fresh water to the beach with you and to discourage your dog from drinking it.

We love dogs all shapes and sizes however, this chart is good for those who are unsure about healthy shape. 😊

Many people think a chubby pet is cute and a lean pet is not being fed enough, but studies show that a pet with a healthy weight lives an average of 3 years longer than an overweight pet. Don't focus on weight - focus on body condition!

Friendly winter reminder: After outings when it snows, check between the toes!

Here's the ice chunks that weren't visible between my guys pads.
Leaving these in-between their pads can cause sores or in worse cases permanent nerve damage as the snow becomes ice and doesn't melt properly and can stay in there for hours.
Removal only takes an extra 5 min tops or if it's stuck you can dip their feet in luke warm water for a couple min to melt it out. 😊🐾🐾

**Pup Safety Reminder**
Just a friendly reminder that as the scorching heat continues the roads, sidewalks, gravel etc will start to hold heat and become hot enough to burn the pads on your dogs feet which can cause permanent nerve damage.

Let’s stick to lakes, fields and shady trails!😊
