Sweet Jasper was adopted this past November by the most wonderful family. It breaks our heart that a mere three months later, he lost his forever dad - Pat McTeer. Our hearts and thoughts are with the McTeer family. We are honoured M2BL is one of the family's chosen organizations for donations in lieu of flowers. Though their time together was far too short we're grateful for the love Pat gave to Jasper and hope Jasper is able to provide some comfort to Pat's family.

Where do your donations go? This poor little muffin is just one example of where funds from our supporters make all the difference.

Sweet Louise was, sadly, hit by a car but has undergone successful FHO surgery (An FHO, or femoral head ostectomy, is a surgical procedure that aims to restore pain-free mobility to a diseased or damaged hip by removing the head and neck of the femur (the long leg bone or thighbone). We can't say thank you enough for our supporters - whether you make a financial contribution, donate bottles/cans/milk containers, buy hoodies or t-shirts, indulge in some amazing desserts at our bake sales, or support any of our other events. It is because of you that we were able to help Louise.

She is now safely recovering at her new foster's home and is also very grateful to M2BL supporters!

Another example of TNR at work. This poor little guy was trapped on Tuesday, February 20 by a member of our TNR team. It was discovered that he had a very large open wound on the side of his head. He was transported to Tanglefoot Veterinary Services where they discovered he had already been neutered, likely in a previous TNR campaign. However, they were able to clean his wound, provide him with a pain management injection as well as an antibiotic injection that lasts 14 days.

A very feral kitty, he is being given a couple of days to recover but for his own safety (he really hates being confined) he will be returned back to his home very soon.

Though this TNR didn't turn out to require a neuter, through this program, this kitty has a chance to recover from his wound with much less risk of infection, septic shock, and potentially, death.

Would you like to help kitties like this get the care they need? Would you like to help control the feral cat population? We'd love to have you join our TNR team. If interested, just fill out an application to volunteer at: https://meant2blovedpetrescue.com/forms/volunteer/.

Not up for joining the TNR team but still want to help? Your donations help ensure ferals like this fellow get the treatments they need. You can donate on our home page (meant2blovedpetrescue.com or via e-transfer to [email protected]. If you want to ensure your donation is used specifically for TNR work, please indicate that in the comment box when making your contribution. On behalf of helpless kitties like this one, thank you!

🐕‍🦺: Freddy
📆 Approx Age: 5
⚤ S*x: Male

Freddy, a vibrant 5-year-old neutered male black lab/mastiff/pitbull mix, is on the lookout for a new adventure! His current owners, recognizing his need for a spacious yard or farm, are seeking a loving individual who can provide the energetic play space and attention Freddy deserves.

Described as a high-energy, goofy companion, Freddy's heart belongs to belly rubs, ear scratches, and the joy of running free. While he brings immense cuddles and a food-motivated spirit, Freddy grapples with some prey drive/reactivity issues that a patient and committed owner can help address.

His owners highlight Freddy's friendly demeanor with people, emphasizing his excitement and barking tendencies without aggression. While he hasn't been extensively around young children, Freddy has shown positive interactions, though cautious introductions are recommended due to his size.

Freddy's reactive tendencies surface primarily with other animals, including dogs and cats. Despite past instances, he can make furry friends given controlled introductions, showcasing his potential for companionship.

In the right hands, Freddy's exuberance can be channeled positively. His owners stress the importance of proper training and control, envisioning an ideal match with someone who possesses a big farm/yard or an active lifestyle.

Yes, Freddy comes with quirks, but by nightfall, he transforms into a big, cuddly sweetheart—revealing his incredible potential. Are you ready to unlock the best in Freddy? Embrace the adventure and consider making him a cherished part of your life! 🐶💕

🐾❤️ We've received a heartfelt plea from someone who's facing an unimaginable situation. Their loyal companion, by their side for 11 years, was stolen on December 5th, 2023, from Stony Plain, Alberta.

This pet parent has initiated a collective effort with other families, all desperately searching for their stolen pups. Shockingly, there are currently 55 dogs missing since November 2023. These are all livestock dogs, predominantly rural, with no history of wandering.

We're reaching out to you, our compassionate community, to lend a helping hand. By clicking on the links above, you can join the effort to spread the word and bring these beloved pets back home.

If you can spare a moment, please share this post, keep an eye out for these missing pups, and consider reaching out if you have any information or leads. 🐾❤️

I am grateful tonight for small miracles! On Friday we had a bit of a bad incident happen. Kierra our fencing expert who about three months ago got a puppy, Ace. Well her friend had Ace out hiking on premier ridge Friday afternoon, and out of nowhere, a very aggressive cougar shot out of nowhere, grabbed the puppy who screamed, and took off. Took seconds for the whole event to happen. Kierra left work Friday, crying. We were all devastated, because our pets are our family... kierra searches Friday night, all day Saturday and went back Sunday to have some closure and say a few words. Well, about the time she was doing this, a call came through to her cell...” hey we found your puppy”. Two awesome people had spotted Ace peaking his head up on the side of a road way up in the bush. Little Ace survived a cougar.. three days in the mountains and tonight is sitting on the couch getting lots of cuddles. A few cuts, really hungry and a very big story to tell. But Ace, by the grace of god is home. So I’m grateful for puppy miracles tonight! So,that’s a happy thought for everyone tonight... have a good night everyone. Stay well!!

About Us

Meant 2B Loved Pet Rescue Society is a non-profit Cranbrook and Kimberley, BC based registered society that is 100% volunteer operated. We rely on monetary donations as well as our fundraising event efforts.

The main focus of Meant 2B Loved Pet Rescue Society is to help domestic animals in Canada, primarily the East Kootenays, to find their forever homes. However, if an animal crosses our path from outside Canada, we’ll be happy to take it in, care for it, and find it a happily-ever-after home. In the process of doing this we can ensure the animal, no matter where it came from, is healthy and ready to enhance the life of their future human family.

Meant 2B Loved Pet Rescue Society was formed by four women, all from very different backgrounds, but with one thing in common; we all want to help animals!! Whether it be fate, the stars aligning, serendipity, or just plain coincidence, we’ve found each other and together we are ready to do what we can to make a difference for the animals that need us.
