*****SAFETY ALERT******
Be careful what cinnamon you feed your beloved wee beaks!
Parrots can safely eat powdered or whole-stick Ceylon cinnamon. It can even be healthy for them, especially if it's high-quality, organic cinnamon. Ceylon cinnamon is high in Vitamin K, Vitamin E and potassium. It is also believed to be antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and high in antioxidants.
However, they CANNOT eat Cassia bark (sometimes called Chinese Cinnamon) - it's not real cinnamon and is NOT SAFE for parrots because of the extremely high levels of coumarin, a blood thinner that is TOXIC and can cause liver damage and/or failure.
